Blue faced Explorer 1 mk2?
I want a blue face in the collection. I want an Explorer 1 mk2 but already have two black watches. As a result, I am now leaning towards an Aqua Terra to fill the void.
Any thoughts if Rolex might make this one day? I know the OP is close, but no cigar. |

Assuming you want SS, will likely have to settle for the YM or DJ or OP from Rolex now and in the future. While a Sub or Explorer in blue would be a massive hit, this doesn't seem to be something Rolex is interested in doing.

Maybe one day we’ll see a white dial Explorer 1, but for a reference so steeped in tradition, a blue dial would show an unprecedented disconnect from the model’s heritage (as beautiful as it may be).
You may want to check out the blue dial Oyster Perpetuals. They’re perhaps a bit dressier - but the 39mm ones are remarkably similar in form and function to the 214270. |
