Choosing watch box for sub-$5,000 watches

Say I now have 4-5 microbrand watches in the $2,000-$5,000 price range, in addition to a couple of Rolexes or Pateks. Say brands like Kurono which you like but are definitely not in the Rolex or even IWC price range.

What kind of box or storage choice is appropriate and practical, and what are good brands and sources?

I'm satisfied with it. Made out of real wood, corners are rounded off smoothly, watch cushion does not look like flaking off. FWIW I do put my Pateks in it mixed with SKX007

Doesn't get more practical than the Stanley Collection from Home Depot.

The value of the watch and/ or collection shouldn't determine the practicality or usefulness of the storage method, IMHO. If it works, it works.

are there any practical considerations in terms of material and lining, such as wood, faux wood, plastic, leather, or faux leather potentially harming a watch or a strap? or indirectly such as tending to attract mold, moisture, etc.?

Bad materials are not going to make the situation worse than what you currently have in the room you store the box in.

Sure mould could form because you store your watches in high humidity but faux leather is not going to make it worse. Wood is going to attract termites which may eat your strap but then you have a bigger problem than the watches.

Thanks. Context, I live in Singapore where humidity is an issue but termites would not be if in an apartment building.

I use Wolf because their quality is fine enough and perhaps even more important, their cushions seem to match my wrist size. I’ve sent back a few boxes / watch rolls from other brands and now I just won’t bother looking elsewhere.

Had 6 watch Wolf case and a 4 watch Patek roll and didn't like either much. Wolf was just ok in terms of quality and its glass window had me worried re banging up my watches. Patek roll was just too long for easy handling.

I decided against a simple wood box with a transparent top for the same reason, and decided to try a Case Club 18 watch plastic box so it doubles as a transport case that can be put inside a suitcase (to put in a car trunk) or carry on and so you can put it away and have it mistaken for a tool box.

What I don't understand is why cases smaller than the 32 watch case have no hole for a padlock, something so easily added.

It's just 3 inches wider but I didn't want anything larger than the 18

I got it and the Case Club 18 is great but part of me wishes I bought the 12 instead. It's exactly the size of an old school hard briefcase, the kind your father or grandfather would have for the office or in old James Bond movies. Large enough not to fit in a carry on suitcase or slip into the bottom of a shelf or under a bed.

Not sure why they did not put a built in lock on this model given it's large enough to be carried like that old school briefcase. Imagine actually hand carrying that on a flight with watches inside would be a nightmare at customs!
