PAM 088 stops on Orbita Winder
Any suggestions how to get this baby going. My Orbita is set at CW 800, yet its apparently not enough to keep it going. Anyone else faced such problems ? Any suggestions please ?

Check your settings
the 88 only winds clockwise and requires atleast 800 turns per day. If your winder is set both ways your watch will stop. I had the same issue the pin settings that came with the winder were incorrect but are correct on the website.

Orbita says
Orbita gave me a very stupid reply viz
"Also, please see the comments below regarding Panerai watches that had trouble keeping wound on our winders. I don't know how old your watch is but we did find our that even some of the newer watches were having problems with lubrication. I hope this helps. Best regards, Donna We've had some problems winding Panerai's with Valjoux movements, CW 800, when their lubrication is going and the watch needs to be serviced. Once the watches are serviced, they work fine on the winders. The usual progression is watch works fine on regular winder. When lubrication starts to go, watch will wind on Sparta but not regular programmable winder. When lubrication goes even more, the watch will not wind on either winder. Once serviced, the watch works fine on both types of winders." Mine is a new watch, and the winder is set at CW- 800. Would it be harmful if I increase the TPD to 950 ? |

Sounds weird to me, what the heck has getting your watch got to do with the winder winding it.
