Icon2 6263 vs. 6265? Any 6265 Love Here?

Know 'the' hot piece right now is 6263 and looking to add one currently.

But curious if the 6265 gets any love from vintage collectors?

I really like it and wondering what you vintage experts think about it?

6265 silver dial for me!
I just love it.
6263 pops out more with the bakelite, but the 6265 is a beauty in my eyes.

That is the one I would personally pick, and also may eventually add.
Actually glad that is in not as sought out for, prices are relatively lower! :D

Paul, for sure there are 6265 lovers on here who hopefully will post photos, but the weight of collectors are on the side of the 6263 and I think it's likely one of the absolute safest ways to go in terms of vintage. That's one of the reasons I went 6263 Big Red, but also because I adored the look!

I feel like I have seen 6265s sit around with dealers for longer, but dealers themselves could give a better view on that

I do recognize however that the pristine 6263s are getting almost impossible to come by. Held by collectors......

I like them both equally. It's 30 seconds to change out the bezel if you want your 6265 to look like a 6263. Two watches for the price of one.

Paul the 6263 is not hot piece now but always has been one most preferred due to bezel. I have had 6262 in past as well as 6239 and much prefer the look/contrast of bezel. To each his own but not anything new.

Period correct NOS bezel if lucky to find one is $1500-2000.

Maybe 30 seconds if you have the right tools. Changing a Daytona bezel is not like changing a Submariner or GMT-Master insert in terms of difficulty.

I got a bezel press from China for 99 US Cents on Ebay, standard bezel knife cost about the same. Both worked fine for me, easy, and i'm a clutz

Yeah that's about right, I sold my mint Mk1 6263 bezel for about $2000 a few months ago.

I think it's a good price to pay compared to the full watch value to effectively have two different watches you can wear.

Here's my 6265. I love the contrast of the steel bezel and black dial.

I've had a few 6263's but personally I prefer steel bezel on black dial. I do however love panda 6263's. Both are great references so I guess it all comes down to preference. 6263's tend to be more in demand but to be honest you always pay for quality and if you find a great 6265 it will probably cost in the same as a great 6263.

Both the ultimate Daytonas however I prefer 6263 due to the bake bezel. It makes the watch appear a bit larger than without

6263s are great, but I've always preferred the 65 because I like the look of the metal bezel.

Worth it. I love both and almost got one recently (6265 Panda) but the deal fell apart. Still on the hunt when the time is right.

6263 vs. 6265? Any 6265 Love Here?

I dig them both but prefer the 6265 with silver dial. Although I would take Joe's red dial over all of them.

Both references are great....but in a few years...6265 will be the last original ones: 6263 bakelite bezels will disintegrate over time.
Here is my 6265

6265 silver, 6263 black. The perfect couple IMHO.

The 6265, silver dial, is my favourite vintage Daytona.
