My late 2005 random serial number 14060M two line S/S Sub purchased new from an AD (Ben Bridge of Waikiki) was manufactured before Rolex started doing the engraved rehauts.

Serial number on Rehaut in 2005, and by 2007, or 2008, they began engraving Rolex all around the rehaut.

That model was produced from 1999 to about 2009, so may or may not have an engraved rehaut, depending on year of production. You can always have it authenticated.

That would be 2007. Some 2 liners were 2007, and then 4 liners began also in 2007.

Started in later batches of the Z series. M and V series all are rehaut. This is based on my experience and purchase history of my Rolex timepieces. Hope this info is useful.

the only M & V series model without the rehaut engraving was the pre-ceramic seadweller (16600). it is the only model without the engraving until it was discontinued in 2008.

Not true. I had an M 16610LV that had no rehaut. Some had them and some did not at that time.

You don’t have a random serial if it was 2005.

Correct random serials started the latter part of 2010 with the last of the single letter G serial.

I bought my 16610 LV in 2008. I had the choice of engraved or not. I chose not, with a Z prefix. I don't know what prefix the engraved one had.
