UK service question

I got my SMP serviced in 2014 & was nearly 50% cheaper than advertised on omegas website now. Price is £590

I got my Rolex Sea Dweller serviced from Rolex in 2017 for £475

My watch is running fine so probably hold off for another year or 2.

When did omega servicing jump so high ?

I remember seeing this happen over the years in Canada, likely all over too. For anyone buying a pre-owned aluminum bezel piece they should be aware of the fact that Swatch (at least in Canada) does not sell just the insert. No clue why, but believe me I tried. It was over $400 CAD plus tax several years ago to buy the spare part.

For the higher value pieces I'm happy to pay this, but for the Chronograph models which can still be found for around $3,000 or even $4,000 CAD it doesn't make as much sense to me.

There was a significant rise last year. I was going to put my quartz Seamaster in for a service for £360. I held off for a bit and when I enquired again it had gone up to £450! I only held off as they were quoting a six month turnaround time due to a shortage of staff!
