I think they will discontinue the BLNR. Not really but it’d kind of be a Rolex thing to do!

It's always fun to see what they do. Rolex has so much data on consumers I kind of feel they know what we want before we do.

Furthermore, the Sky Dweller was just updated and is available in many variants, so it would be odd to have just a regular extension to the model.

And then there was the patent publication early this year for an evolution on the 9002 movement‘s mechanism that deals with the amplitude challenges encountered by complicated calendar movements when they need to jump a date, and especially when they have to jump over multiple ones in the end of February.

All this leads me to believe that Rolex is teasing us sone kind of perpetual calendar, which honesty would be a sensible evolution for them now that the SkyDweller has become much more democratized than it was initially.

Mightn’t be this year but it’s not far away, pretty confident of that.
great reasoning, I agree

I agree with the others who have commented that this prediction seems well reasoned.

The thought of a Rolex QP makes me sweat, though, because I’m not sure how I’d ever manage to get one (as someone who doesn’t really want to pay retail and isn’t super enthused about Rolex PM).

wild thought but the 9002 is a great start for a perpetual calendar by replacing the gmt with a day wheel. also, if you look at the patent all the primary gears are centralized closely resembling the 9002.

Interesting thought, indeed, the 24h wheel would not be a bad place to put the day indication - then again, Moser has shown us you can easily do a QP without a day of the week indication, so who knows…

My predictions based on the teaser video and the fact that Rolex has posted two Sea-Dweller videos in the lat week:

1. A full YG version of the Sea-Dweller
2. The discontinuation of the James Cameron

Full disclosure: I’m hoping for #2 as a proud DeepSea JC owner…
