That would be my dream come true.
BTW, you can convert a SS Sub-C to a SS Smurf by purchasing a blue ceramic bezel and a blue dial, and polishing the center links of the bracelet. Not cheap ($1000+), but doable, as someone already done this on this forum. However, Rolex will refuse to service such a modified watch, so I wouldn't recommend going down that route.

No way. Why would anyone buy a gold watch that looks like just another ss watch? Think about the reasons people buy gold.

Not really a franken if you use all genuine parts, just a re-imagining.

I would like a black WG subc which you could have by buying both subs and swapping the dial and bezel over.

That's an interesting way to think about it.

They would never make a SS blue sub.

For SS there is HULK.

Asking when will they make SS SMURF is like asking when will they make HULK in gold.

This is what the "shark" looks like so SS Sub with the blue WG bezel.....

Photo taken from the internet.......

And I actually quite like it ....... but to go the extra mile and source the dial and bezel and polish the centre links would to me be a bit like having a forgery on my wrist and I'd be extremely embarrassed if a friend or anyone with some watch knowledge ever asked me about it......... I also think it would cost a lot more than $1,000........but each to their own.......

I think one day a Pt Sub will be made, but probably not in the upcoming few years. IMHO first Rolex will max out the existing models, by e.g. rolling out a RG Sub and a WG GMT, new bi-colour bezels (GMT), and perhaps a rubber strap for the diver watches. Only when all those options are exhausted Rolex would make a Pt Sub. Which will be a huge hit, I'm 100% sure about that. I wonder what colour bezel would match the glacier dial on the Pt Sub though. Maybe a graphite gray one?

There is always the YM with blue dial. PT bezel and polished links to make it more special than a SS Sub.

I very much doubt it (colour is reserved for WG), but some new colours would be welcome for the steel model

They did it with the YM2, goes to show you never know what they could release!
