Will a Submariner be too large for my wrist?

Just like the title says. The toy watch in the photo is 38.1 mm across for comparative purposes.

I love the Submariner, but I'm concerned with the lugs it may actually hang over my wrist. Yes, I've tried them on at ADs, but I'd like to hear from the experts.

I think that you might be okay with the present ceramic bezel sub, but would also seriously consider the older 16610 without the thicker lugs as it might be a better fit. Either way, You will love your sub. Good luck!

My wrist is comparable to yours. I have a previous model Sub at 40mm and it's great on my wrist. It's a matter of personal preference. You still have a little space to go and it will still look fine in my opinion.

I venture up to 42mm with no issues, but thickness starts to be a factor at that point.

hope this helps.... The Sub is great, you can't go wrong!

You'll be fine. I have small wrists and wear the SubC. It is large but not overly so.

Why would you want a Sub when you already own the perfect watch?

Quit while you're ahead.

Back away from the slippery Rolex slope that will leave you broke and staying up late worrying about the state of your seals in your dozen or so precious timepieces.

Seriously. Run while you still can...

I have the rather unique choice between purchasing a NOS 2008 14060 (for $6300) or buying the 114060 for near retail (~$7500).

You may want to go with the 14060 if you're worried. It does wear a bit smaller even though they are both considered 40mm. Have you tried on a 14060 yet or just the 114060?

Both. And I like them both. It's the curse of being a Gemini. 😄

I have an extremely small wrist, about 6.5 in diameter. It fits great on me!

I too have small wrist and the SubC is just perfect on my wrist. Maybe I am used to the look because I have been wearing large watches for many years.

One note is when I first wore my Cartier Santos a few years ago, I knocked it everywhere because of its thickness.

I greatly prefer the 14060(M) and 16610 to the ceramic models due to the smaller case

I wear an Omega daily with lugs that extend just about as wide as my wrist, and am looking for something that fits a little more snugly, hence my presence on these forums.

I'd go with he older 16610 or 14060, the newer ceramics have a lot more presence despite having similar diameter overall, but thicker lugs/bigger crown guards make it ook much large.

The older 16610/14060's are more slim, more refined, and subtle.

Size aside, that doesn't seem like much of a price difference between a brand new Sub Date and a seven year old No Date
