Do you get your AD a Christmas gift?

Just curious if any of you get your AD or sales rep a gift for the holidays? What about this year if they didn’t get you a watch (due to crazy high demand)?

I typically get them something as a thank you after getting me a waitlisted watch, but not always something for the holidays. Just wanted to see what’s the norm for a lot of you.

I have had four Rolex watches from my AD this year, culminating in a white gold Daytona this week. I got him and his team a selection of nice wines which I know they appreciated.

Have to agree plus perhaps when they do finally according to many of forum begin to sell watches to Joe public. Instead of selling to so called VIP or relationship customers only, the Joe public customers will have to kiss the ADs feet to enter there retail store.

This is so depressing. Spend 100K and need to kiss ass for the privilidge; totally ridiculous. I'd expect ethics on the part of an AD to prohibits gifts from customers.

In my part of the world there is no need.

The single AD for Rolex and Patek in the country said that now they only sell Rolex for cash and that the price for turquoise dial OP is about $18k.

They asked if I was interested in a blue dial 5711 and said they could talk to management and ask if they can offer me one. The price is about $125k..

I would actually like the chance to build a relationship, be on a waiting list and maybe one day get something at international retail price. But that will not be the case with either of those brands.

There is no way either brand does not know what is going on here, so in a world of restricted international travel that is it for my collecting of either unless we relocate.

Other way around for me. I received a lovely Rolex calendar and a card. Really lovely touch from a pretty outstanding AD.

I have many blessings in my life and am fortunate that I have the financial resources to gift things as I choose. I give my SA/GM a Christmas card with either cash or a gift card to a nice restaurant. I buy a lot from them and they take care of me both in price reductions and service. They also give me a gift, usually a Cigar accessory from Dupont or a Mont Blanc Pen Case or such. Been this way for years and I like it and don't mind. I also take care of my barber, mail man, tailor, and the nail tech for my wife. I remember what it is like to work for a living and how good it made me feel when someone acknowledged the job I did. A small gesture and kindness go a long way. Stop by the house, I may have something for you.

I give my postal letter carrier and paper delivery person a gift. Not the AD unless and until he comes through.

Meanwhile, I just put him on my LIST. It’s better than groveling.

Do you do this for every salesperson you interact with?

I dream of the day when my customer will think of buying me some kind of gift just because I sold him something that I made money on. Really interesting times.

This topic obviously needs to be a Sticky… along with:
  • Do you celebrate your SA’s birthday?
  • Does your SA follow you on Instagram?
  • Have you ever Facestalked your SA?
