Go to multiple ADs. One of them will sell that to you as a first purchase.

I only waited 18 months for a brand new sub date, an Explorer 2 should be even easier. I would also recommend checking other ADs

The ExPII should be relatively easy to get, 3 months the most.
Before the pandemic, you could walk in and buy it. |

Explorer 2 (either color) is a walk in and buy watch at the AD in Saudi Arabia.

It's a special, underappreciated model. Mine is most comfortable watch I've ever worn. 42mm hits my sweet spot. Rolex last true "tool" watch. Worth the wait. Good luck!

As another poster said, visit a few AD’s. When you visit ask who makes the Rolex allocation decision. Useless spending time with SA’s who cannot help you.
Good luck. |

Longest wait I had with my AD was for that particular reference.

It’s funny how this question for this watch always draws out opposing answers. A percentage of people say it’s a walk in and a percentage say it’s one that AD’s rarely see.
My personal experience (2 years ago) was that the AD’s I tried were happy to waitlist me for a sub but would not take my name for a Polar Exp II as they didn’t receive enough to work through the lists they had. I wonder if those who think it’s easy are basing that on the low grey market premium rather than personal experience of buying. |

Requested at AD and received call in 3 days. Had purchased a WG Sub earlier in the year but that’s it for history.

That's good hear. Still see EXP II going very close to MSRP. So the demand is still there and you got it quickly.

No, Platona was via grey. Exp2 was via AD as knew it wasn’t too hard to get. Timing just happened to work out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Have you tried it on your wrist? Just asking in case you did not, because it wears larger than anticipated.

Go grey market. It's the only way you will get one. I just purchased a Batgirl from DavidSW - was delivered today, purchased Thursday. It's the only way for the foreseeable future.
I had a 216570 Polar E2, it is a big but comfortable watch. I am really surprised at how much smaller my GMT-Master II wears compared to the E2. If you are used to the Sub/GMT size it will be noticeably bigger. |

I went on the list November 11th, 2023 and received the watch Dec 7th, 2023. First visit to the AD. It was in Ottawa, Canada. I said I would take either polar or black dial. Polar arrived.

I’ve been waiting three years and have an excellent purchase history at multiple AD’s. Can’t get my damn hands on one of them!

Shouldn’t be that hard. Was offered one in SoCal on walk in at a new AD last year. I somewhat wish I bought it but there were other watches I was after and had allocated funds for.

I own both the black and white dial version from the last generation. I prefer them to the new release for the hands. The premium from a Trusted Seller is not much for these if you include the tax from an AD. Look at our Trusted Sellers websites and get on the phone and call up and have a discussion. Get all your questions answered and respectfully ask for the best price. Pay and have the watch by lunch tomorrow, on a working day. Good luck.

I agree it's not a walk in and buy watch . My AD has it in black face but I only like the white face so on with the wait!

how often are you communicating with your AD(s)? You should either visit their boutique or send a check-in email at least once a month to express your interest and you should get sooner.

2 years sounds awfully long to wait for an ExpII. They can be had close to retail grey.
