Trading 126610LN for 116610LN

Hi all.
I have a doubt. I really like my 126610LN but I also like the 20mm bracelet of the 116610LN and I am valuing a trade.
What do you think ?
How much should I get for in $ for a 2019-2020 116610LN full set against my 2022 126610LN ?

I traded a 124060 for a 114060. And regretted it. The case proportions were (for me) much improved on the newer reference.

If you like beefier case, the 11 series is your choice.

126 looks better, i never liked the square look of 116.

126610 > 16610 > 116610.

I much prefer the slimmer proportions and A/ R coating on the underside of the 12 series…bracelet width is irrelevant to me. So, NO.

116610ln is the best sub ever made along with the hulk imo they are not comparable to the 12 series subs imo I dont care about 70 hour power reserve and I dont like the skinny lugs and the wide bracelet and clasp the super case at 40mm is way more aesthetic to me

Ooof, I would not want to make that move.

I moved on from all my 116 Subs due to the blocky case.

You’re not going to get much either. If anything.

agreed, the 11 series are just special, beefy and muscular.

Massive downgrade. The case looks so much better on 126 subs vs 116

The 11 series is more robust
The 12 series is more refined.

I don't think Rolex will ever produce a sub like the 116610LN again

Its quite a unique look actually, one that I love even more since the discontinuation.

I only own 2, the LB and LV, both keepers.

I can’t stand the new movement and I don’t like the new bracelet. Everybody who tells you they don’t like the blocky case would be fine with the Hulk of course.
The power reserve “upgrade” is unnecessary and most likely it’s Achilles’ heel. I’ve never run out of power and even if I did, so what? I wind it again.
According to an expert I listen to on this forum regarding technical aspects, those new movements are “slowly getting better” for what it’s worth.

Have owned both, the 11 series wears better on a small wrist imo. That bracelet and clasp on the 12 series just overpowers smaller wrists.

I did just that. While I like the proportions of the 12, I also like the beefy case look of the 11, and by miles prefer the 31 movement. Today you are probably looking at not more than a $1k comeback.

Having owned both, I wouldn't go back to the 116xxx series.
I prefer the overall aesthetics and proportions of the newer Subs.

Either is fine for me personally. I wouldn’t expect much $$ your way….that’s unfortunately how it works. The grey dealers will look for profit on both ends of the deal.

How about the other way and trade a 116610LN for a 126610LN?

Trading 126610LN for 116610LN

I like both series. It took me a while to jump from 11 to 12 series due their earlier movement issues. But I am pleased with my 126610 that I own now.

Do it ESPECIALLY because you get workhorse movement 3135

The proportion story is only a mental mastrubation. Both watch are beautiful and always classic

As someone who owns the 11 series, I have no desire to upgrade to the 12 series and I have an 8-inch wrist. I agree with a previous comment, I rarely hear complaints about the Hulk or Smurf watch cases.

I have the 126610LV but I think I prefer the shape of 116610 more. I used to have 116610LV but never connected with the sunbrust green dial, so let it go. I really like the new green bezel with black dial but still prefer the case shape and bracelet of the 116610. In black, I will choose 116610LN. With 126610 I feel rolex has made the case bit vintage inspired and I like the modern look of the older reference.

Sure, they are both Submariners. Get what you like.

The 11 series has a narrower bracelet and smaller clasp, a historically more reliable movement and lugs that stand out (the last one is personal preference). The 12 is newer and more harmonious (but bigger).

The 12 series Submariner being bigger isn't entirely accurate.
Although the dial+bezel are a quaint 3mm larger, it's not really a 40mm vs 41mm.

Here are the particulals:

Dial + Bezel
The 11 series dial+bezel = 40.2mm
The 12 series dial+bezel = 40.5mm
(Rolex rounded up to 41mm for marketing)

Case size
The 11 series case size = 27.5mm
The 12 series case size = 26.7mm

Due to the maxi case, the 11 series Submariner is almost 1mm larger and has more wrist presence.

As I said before:
The 11 series is robust.
The 12 series is refined.

11.

The lugs of the 12 are nice but I don't like the 21mm bracelet and wider clasp. Oh and the sickness. I can't own a watch at this value where I don't believe in the movement.
