Heritage Submariner Big Crown, 60th Anniversary Edition
Just saw this modified Sub-C. It's interesting and would be great if Rolex actually designed it. The only thing that seems to be off on this is the missing crown guards.

Well, Rolex kind of did it through their company Tudor:

For the OP - I sense the new "homage" version has a smaller "big crown" and also not really a fan of over mod'd Subs posing as something they are not...

The one thing I do like on this modification is the deep chamfers on the case... These help tremendously in tempering the big blocky look of the new cases...

Looks great!
I especially like how they modified the bulky lugs to be a bit more elegant!

I love the idea! I think I was doubting the watch when I got to the wrist shots something didn't look right, but if I had the money to burn I'd go and try one on.

I personally think that the limited edition is kind of gimmicky, except for the beveled lugs.
Those are just beautiful and make the 114060 look even more balanced than it already is. If I could find someone who could do lugs that good, I could be enticed to buy a 114060, even though I'm as pleased as punch with my 14060M.

David, awesome watch. Looks like it's strangling your wrist though!
I'm not a fan of mods on Rolex. And I'm not sure Rolex should sell modern "vintage" watches. I think they should always be looking forward. I think Tudor is the perfect conduit for any homage or throwback vintage lines. |

£15000 for a £4500 watch as Axel Foley would say "get the xxxx outta here"
Rolex will also never service it and the lume dot on the bezel has gone too - stupid! Also ugly the crown looks ludicrous sitting too high and tea stained lume spots and hands are badly faked - no patina there at all just a quick dip in tea bag voila fake patina and can I charge you £15000 please lol |

On a Rolex Submariner the Trip-Lock system and the crown guards comprise the most important elements of very secure divers' watch. http://beckertime.com/blog/2012/twin...ters-to-rolex/

No doubt my feelings are swayed by my love for the original, but I love it too.
