I am celebrating!!
I have finally been taken off a certain medication that I have been on for several months now that not only wasn't helping the condition, but was making me feel very sick. I hope to soon be rid of the 3 headaches a week (as opposed 3 a year before this medication), the nausea and general stomach upset, the incredible fatigue, and general feeling of being unwell.
It was also hard on the liver, which means that I have had a total of 3 alcoholic drinks over the last 4 months! I am not someone who drinks a great deal, but enjoy a good red wine, a smoky and peaty single malt scotch, a snifter of cognac, the odd beer and maybe some gin and tonics on the weekend while washer the cars. I have been drinking Beck's non alcoholic beer for a while now (it's not bad, but not the same as the real stuff) and also had one scotch, one cognac, and some ice wine. So, once this stuff is out of my system, I'll be It's a good day today! |

Avalon whats the name of the drug you was taking, and drinking Beck's non alcoholic beer or any other brand of non alcoholic beer gives me terrible headaches. But with all the medication that I take must keep my alcohol low, just the odd glass of red wine, and the very occasional G & T or Scotch so
mate have a few for me.

Glad to hear you are on the mend. Sounds like some pretty powerful medicine you were on. Good luck with your recovery.

Thanks for all the good wishes guys - you are all my mates!
Padi, the drug is called methotrexate. I also had the headaches when I wasn't drinking the Beck's so I know for sure it was the meds. There's no curing what I have (and I'm not talking about the watch addiction either ) so there is a new drug in the works but I need to have some tests done, and then get approval from the insurance company before I start it. Let's just say that it costs as much as a couple of TT YM for a year, so I need the coverage! JJ - thanks I have and Jacqui says hello to you and Zemina! |

Glad to hear you're better, Al and that you're off that stuff. I hope the new med will be better for you in the long run. Maybe eventually you can wean off that, too, and go back to becoming the alchy you always wanted to be.
