Looking at purchasing my first RM watch :), theres a couple that appealed to me so far..
rm35 americas and an rm30 (forgot exact model #)

what should I be going for price wise ? the 35 was 120 msrp and the 30 140 msrp (USD)

how bad am i gonna be hit on resale when the time comes to move on ? the americas is limited but i feel like it won't make much difference at this level.

thanks in advance

First, congrats on taking the leap

Feel free to PM me and I can give you info.

I will say 030 you will take a big hit.

With RM it's key to find something you like, but also 'buy safe' from a price perspective (as you enter into the brand).

011 (Massa Ti or RG), 035-01 and 055 are the ones that hold well for a first piece.

Time to fire up the RM thread.

There is another TRF member getting his RM today, so I hear, so let's get those pics posted to tease him:

Superb shot Paul - really captures the beauty of the floating movement perfectly framed in that NTPT case. RM just got it so right with the 35-01, no wonder it is such a sought after piece. Keep on rockin that beauty 👏👏👏

anyone really wear a RM 55 and play a lot of golf?
I play 3 to 4 rounds a weeks and hitting driving range around 8 hours a week.
have some Rolex, AP and patek, but never wear one while playing in scare will damage the watch, recently looking at RM 55 and really interest to purchase one new or if I can find a nice one second hand.
But, does anyone here really wear one and play a lot of golf?
just scare it will still break, if you really "Game" it, thanks

Umm...unless you're a better player than Bubba, I wouldn't worry about it.

RM watches ARE made to be worn during sports. 55 would be perfect for your golf outings

thank you for ur reply, but the question is does anyone really wear a rm55 and play a lot of golf and without any problem? I don't think you need to be better than Bubba in order to damage the watch through the normal play in a golf course. Yes, you might not have the same swing speed as Bubba, but you might hit a lot of fat shot , thin shot and non centre hit in a round and those shot will have much more impact force to the watch on ur wrist than a perfect swing.
and who know, Bubba is being sponsor to wear the watch, his watch might not be working after a few rounds and need to be constant take care of,,, he won't say and we won't know. so I am still trying to get some feedback from any real golfer who have lets say 100 rounds with the rm55 on and tell me there is no problem at all.
It's not a cheap watch and I would really want to play some real golf with it.
hope people who had the experience can share , thanks

Knowing how much R and D go into ever watch I believe you will be fine playing a round of golf with the 55. Mind you I don't own one.

Don't know anyone here with a 55 that has 100 rounds...but maybe someone will pipe in. I don't believe for one minute that Bubba's watch needs repairs at all. IT was MADE for this activity.

Hope you get your answer.

Don't remember where I saw or read it, but I'm pretty sure they talked about the Lotuses being made to withstand the g forces and crashes of race car driving. Can't imagine they didn't figure out how to golf-proof the 55.
