Pepsi? Or Batman for Panda

I think it’s finally time for me to get a 116500/126500 Panda
Gonna go grey of course though I have been getting all my previous pieces from AD, I don’t have any illusions that my spend is enough.
So there’s the thought that I don’t want to fork out all the full amount of money, plus I don’t want too much redundancy in my collection so I’m looking to let go of one for the panda.
Currently I have :
116710 BLNR
126710 BLRO
124270
126610 LN
I think of letting go the Pepsi, as it is the flashier GMT, and a blnr would be more low key for its function-travel watch. When I want to be flashy, there’s the incoming panda. I thought of keeping the explorer and sub as they are versatile GADA watches, but they are possible options too.
Which would you let go given this choices and why?

Pepsi? Or Batman for Panda

I’d move one of the GMTs (personal preference) and the Sub.

GMT, Explorer and a Panda is a great trio covering many bases.

If you love the Sub, swap it with the Explorer, you’ll get more for it anyway. But I’m kind of bored of modern Subs.

Edit: just realized you only want to move one. I’d personally move the Sub, but moving one of the GMTs makes a lot of sense too since you want to avoid redundancy and you’ll get more for the GMT.

This is only a choice you can make. I personally paired a SS Daytona and BLNR/jubilee as a perfect duo. I didn’t care for my BLRO with its color and let it go but didn’t find it anymore “flashier” than the BLNR on the same bracelet.
Others can’t make your trade choice as it’s too personal and subjective.

I’d move the BLRO. Not a fan of the colors and also think right now is a great time to capitalize on the BLRO being way over valued

I think it depends on how much money you want to put up and whether you want the 116500 or the more expensive 126500. Obviously, you'll get more for the Pepsi. I sold my Batman but my calculus was that I'd be able to get another one more easily than a Pepsi from my AD.

Weighing the pros and cons of each piece. The Panda would definitely be a standout addition! Selling the Pepsi could make sense if you prefer a more low-key GMT. Keeping the Explorer and Sub as versatile options sounds like a solid plan too. Whichever you decide, it'll be exciting to see how your collection evolves!

Does your AD participate in the CPO program?

If so, you could potentially offer up one or two of your pieces as a trade in against the 12 series at RRP. They make a healthier margin on trade-ins compared to new sales…it might get you moved up on the fictitious waitlist.

If you own the Pepsi, Daytona and sub. You could retire from the watch game.

Bye BLNR and explorer.

I would move 126610LN, 124270, and either Pepsi or BLNR.

A 124060 would actually be a nice medium between 126610LN and 124270.

A BLNR is also very close to 126610LN.

Both GMTs are based on the 40mm submariner case.

I'd go for the panda, pick one black dial Rolex sports to keep. Then move on to vintage or AP and Patek, or precious metals.

Pretty much completed with the modern stainless rolex part of the journey. Congrats!

Thanks for the great replies and advice!
To add on, why I more willing to let go of the blro than the blnr is because the blnr was a piece I bought to wear at my wedding (although I don’t think the missus would notice if it’s gone)

The Pepsi may be a bit more flashy than the Batman but hardly a difference when it comes to safe travels if the environment isn’t hospitable.

Also after owning a few Daytonas , I would skip it.

I’m not sure half a ceramic insert can make one more “flashy” than the other. They are both easily recognizable Rolex sports watches with lots of polished bits.

So, I would flip the one I like less. For me, that would be easy: BLNR. If you want to spend less cash, I would also add the Sub to the trade.

Good luck with your choice!

Moving one of the GMTs makes the most sense. For me, the BLRO stays. I prefer it over all of the other watches in your collection and the Daytona as well.

I had the exact same GMT references as you. Batman was with me for 5 whole years. Most of the time it was my number 1. After three years, Pepsi on Oyster was added, and I also bought Jubilee. During this time, BLNR sat in the box more and more often, until I finally decided to sell it. My "iron three" are currently Pepsi, Daytona Panda and Hulk. Sometimes I miss Batman, but only sometimes. Recently I picked up a blue Sky-Dweller. You have to choose what you want to get rid of and what is to be the core of your collection for many years.

The Rolex Daytona Panda describes any Rolex Daytona chronograph dial that is white with black sub-dials, closely resembling a panda's face. Technically, the term only applies to Daytona 6263 and 6235 models, but has been casually used to describe other Daytonas with the same color scheme.

For clarity?

Keep the BLRO.
BLNR will be much easier to get in the future.
