Australian buyers alert!
I was browsing the web and found a website thewatchfinderco.com.au
Currently it is selling a Rolex Milgauss white dial. The description is warranty dated from 2017. The watch is wrapped in plastic hinting unworn. We know teh Milgauss white dial could not possibly be manufactured in 2017. The weird thing is the description is not professional, spelling mistake and dial colour described as black. The most interesting point is the price, A$8,995 (US$6445). It seems a bargain to0 good to be true. I browsed some of the sold Rolex. A 116610LV sold for A$12,495 (US$8,952)! A 116520 sold for A$14,995 (US$10,740). It smells fishy. So I pulled up a report from ASIC, the company is in the hands of an external administrator in December 2021. The owner Facebook had a message from an individual asking for return of a few Rolex and proceeds from sale of an item (A$7,000). On another Internet forum, someone recommended this online shop, probably posted by the owner. If you look carefully at the website, it is trying to confuse buyers the shop is related to watch finder running from the UK. I am raising a flag here for the online shop seems to be still up and running. There are many scams on the Internet, reusing pictures from the Internet is easy. In Australia, there are watch dealers who would sell watches as consignment. One needs to do a bit of due diligence before signing up a deal. The same applies to anywhere in the world. |

Just pertaining to your early point, 2017 warranty doesn't mean the watch was manufactured that year. White Milgauss was a slow seller at one time and could easily have sold at an AD in 2017, and been manufactured a few years earlier.

I did not mean the watch was manufactured in 2017. AD sells NOS and I am not surprised. My point was this dealer was trying to highlight the warranty expires in 2022. That is a selling point for some buyers.
Anyhow, it is really irrelevant as the shop is in the process of liquidation. |

I also want to add that I saw a white Milgauss for sale in a Melbourne AD around April 2020, so there’s probably one with a 2020 warranty floating around somewhere.

Thanks for the info. Some of the best advice on TRF is to “buy the seller” when looking to purchase on the secondary market.

I have also seen this website. And that same advertisement for the white milgauss. I enquired about it too, this was about 3 months ago. I am pretty sure that business is defunct and the website is still up, but not active. There was no reply to my email.
Further, I think I recall reading on here that the owner of that business was implicated in selling a fake watch which may be the reason the business eventually closed down. I’m sure someone here could clarify this. So in short, the website is real, not a scam, just not updated in a few years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Warranty card could say 2021 if it was sold this year.

Yeah but we don't know when they sold for those prices. When I bought my Milgauss for 6k a year or so ago its still listed at that price . If someone where to see that today they'd call Bravo Sierra because they are a LOT More. But I bought it...and it ain't BS.
So yah always buyer beware but not sure you should disparage a business without personal proof or issue. https://thewatchfinderco.com.au/buy-...duct_cat=rolex |
