What watch is this? And what is it worth?

Hi!
I am new to the forum and a novice on watches. I have got a cheap offer of a vintage Rolex. The owner said it is a Quartz movement, but is not sure of either model number or production year. He is not certain of the possible value of the watch either.
According to the attached pictures, it has the numbers "5050" and "2779163" stamped on the back, but he is not sure if all parts are original.

Can anyone of you Gurus in this forum please tell me what model this is, and also how much it is worth? The owner is in town today, so quick replies would be highly appreciated! I have no idea of what I should be willing to pay, but I sure want to be a member of the Rolex owner community. :)

Thanks!

OK? Why should I do so? Is it fake or not 100% original? As I said, I am getting it at a VERY low price. I would appreciate more comments on what it is, what it is worth and why i should or should not buy it.

Edit:
To put the price in perspective: You will get Swatch watches in the same price range. :)

While I'm definitely no expert, just going on what's written on the dial:

Oyster -> Its not an Oyster
Perpetual -> Its not a perpetual, its a quartz
Rolex -> Unlikely
Swiss Made -> Even more unlikely.

If you think you can buy a Rolex for a Swatch price, that should be enough to tell you: it's a FAKE!

Welcome to TRF

Because it's a total fake and is worth less then a Swatch.

Its an ugly and priceless fake, keep away of this "watch". And remember, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch, it's allways a good point where to start at.

Haha. I see, no free lunch. I think I am going for a 50's Lemania instead, for even less money. At least that's a real one...

The leather on the band might be the only thing genuine on that thing!

Maybe the leather on the inside lining of the band. The outside of the band look like glossy "pleather" to me

I thought that meant the watch came with a "real" rolex hat

Buy it and smash it with a hammer. Then the next guy doesn't have to worry about it.

I used to have a nice Thai 18k Gold Rolex President that kept good time but I never wore it because what is the point of wearing a fake its sad

Save up more and get a genuine one
