Hi everyone
Planning to go to Waikiki Turkey weekend November
and wanted to bring the Bluesy..

Was going to take surfing lessons so is IT SAFE?
It won't POP out of the wrist??..:)
sorry, such a mundane question and thanks everyone

Safe until it isn't.

But hey, what's life without a little risk!

I think it depends on your comfort level. If you treat your Bluesy like I do my Seiko SKX while vacationing in Hawaii, then it won't be a problem. I'd be more worried about all the possible dings and scratches that the surf board might bring about, as opposed to it falling off your wrist. But again, some owners don't care about these things. Do you? Enjoy paradise!

Good friend lives in Honolulu and wears his several Rolex all the time. They don’t go out at night party at night but otherwise I don’t think he is concerned.

Now are you s hotel or not airbnb? friend house? as taking surfing that’s dings etc etc .

I might take it for the trip but would wear one of my Seiko divers for the water side of the trip. Rule in life, "When in doubt, there is no doubt, Don't".

I’ve worn my black 16613 on hundreds of dives in caves, on sunken warships, over ocean reefs and on advanced training dives. It’s a dive watch, and I’ve never worried about it.

Like OP, I also have a Bluesy. To me, although technically a utility watch, it’s more a piece of jewelry. I work at a marina all summer and live on a beach all winter. That’s a lot of water I’m around. I wear the Bluesy more in the evening and wear either an Omega Seamaster (rubber strap) or my GMT during the day when I’m around the water. I just don’t see the point in wearing the Bluesy for work/recreation although it’s perfectly capable of handling it.

It's a Sub. Just because it's blingy doesn't make it any less durable

Hi Larry
Whatever type of sub it is, two tone or black , to me , the sturdiness is the same ofc, but im just wondering, if surfing will pop it from my wrist

beginning to think I should leave it in hotel safe

It shouldn't pop off your wrist while surfing because of the flip lock protection in addition to the clasp lock. I believe it will be fine, but I would leave it home and just enjoy the trip without any worries. Who needs to know the time while surfing anyway. If you do take it, I would wear it constantly and not leave it anywhere.

Bringing my TT to HAWAII

What other watches do you have to choose from? I don’t have a 126613LB, but FWIW, I’d bring my SS Submariner or Seamaster Diver 300m and not worry about it.

Take it. It’s a freaking dive watch. I don’t dive, but snorkeled a lot in Hi and Mex.

Hotel has a safe so I'll leave it there
I may go surfing only a day but rest is snorkelling

Wear it without concern. It’ll be just fine. If it will be distracting, then get a Gshock. Also, tons of Honolulu pd around and in my experience, street crime in major areas (like Waikiki) is low.
