$150 million pounds

It's being reported that Daniel Craig is being courted with $150 million pounds to return as James Bond for two more pictures. After the last film, Craig made some comments making it sound as though he was done with the role.

Would you like to see him return or is it time for the series to move on?

Would he be crazy to walk away from that kind of money, regardless of how he feels?

Plus probably a percentage on ticket sales, merchandising, . . .

I would take it

I think he's done a brilliant job. After the last one he did say that he was we finished with being bond..... UNLESS he gets a stupid money offer to stay in the role. It looks like they have done that. If they have really offered 150m there's no way he would turn that down. That's 75m per movie? Would that make him the highest paid movie actor of all time? I can't recall hearing of anyone being paid money like that before

I cannot fathom saying no to a deal like that.

Maybe he has his reasons or perhaps he is just completely insane?

I enjoy his portrayal of the bond character.

Seems an obscene amount. Surely it can't that difficult to find a new actor, Bond is always gonna make a ton of money.

I'd prefer to see a fresh face now.

I don't know, he was a character actor before and didn't really want to do Bond initially, plus he has a ton of cash already so it will be interesting to see what he does, or what Rachel orders him to.

He's my favorite Bond. By far.

But isn't he a bit long in the tooth?

I like Daniel Craig... his movies are awesome...

Just in case Daniel is reading this:

and please come back to the Girl with the dragoon tattoo series.

It just goes to show how much these movies make. They're better off giving him $200m than taking a chance on a new actor.

I have a funny feeling the press is not fully informed on this one. This is like a daily rumor mill. One day they are throwing him money, the next day they are looking at new actors for the role. I would like to see him come back, but only if they can keep the story arc they have built over his four movies. $150 million dollars as a salary would make him the highest paid ever at a salary line I believe. Others have made more when you include backend compensation (ticket sales, etc). Heck, back in 89 when they made the Batman film with Jack Nicholson his backend cut was rumoured to be well over $60 million just for that movie. Downey Jr got something like $50 million for the Avengers on the back end.

I love Daniel Craig as Bond. I particularly like the darker and more violent portrayal as opposed to the playboy 007 that previous actors (especially Brosnan) displayed him as.

I wouldn't be able to say no to much, much less than $150m

I would for sure take it. He doesn't get any other roles and usually bonds don't make it after that because they will always be known as james bond. If i was him i would be bonds until they kick me off.

He's not the typical James Bond as others were before him. I can't see him being typecast, at all. He still did the girl with the dragon tattoo in between James Bond. And he will get similar and different roles in the future.

Yes. I would like to see him come back. I'm sure he has his reasons and I'm sure they are all good but $150,000,000 is a lot to leave on the table.

Questionable that a contract is all cash - but value could approach that level if revenue exceeded goals by a significant level.

I'm all for seeing him in at least a few more Bond flicks as well! The way the last one ended it would seem weird (to me) for a new actor to just take over. My guess is he'll end up taking it but only time will tell!

I have no issue with Craig as Bond and would be happy to see another installment. Have to disagree though with the feelings that the present storyline works. I'd love to see a viable-realistic foe, coupled with a lack of an elaborate ticking bomb or count-down doomsday "device". Enough already, how about something out of the news or one of the real enemies of the Crown rather than the generic megalomaniac bent on world domination and the killing of an oenophile with nine lives who happens to be a civil-servant.

BY FAR
the best of the 3 Craig Bond films was Casino Royale, and for me it wasn't even close. JMHO

It also reflects how much movies cost to make. They have become super expensive to produce. That's why big names are offered so much money. When you're spending well north of $100mm to make a pic, it's probably less risky to pay a big draw tons than to cheap out on the lead character and take a chance on a lesser known or new face. In the case of the Bond franchise it's even more critical because of the merchandising and product placement revenue, as well as the future of the franchise.
