Panerai pam 512

I was interested in this reference about a year ago, but the appeal, for one reason or another, faded. However, it's back on my radar. I was hoping current or former owners might be willing to chime in, as well as anyone else who has considered the reference.

Also, would be interested to see it side by side with a speedmaster if possible..

Thanks!

I bought this watch in mid-December and I'm in love with it. The 512 was my first PAM and now I can't quit thinking of adding another. My 114060 is getting jealous. :)

It would be my first pam as well...the 47mm size had previously kept me away from most Models from the brand

as long as the fauxtina isn't an issue for you (it is for me), it's a great piece. the 1940s lugs give the 42mm size a bit more heft.

Here's a photo of my Gemini IV and the PAM 512. The Speedmaster wears a lot bigger than the 512 due to the high case back and protruding end links. I like the 512 a lot, but given the choice again I would have gone with a classic Radiomir with wire lugs like the PAM 338. The extra width of the 338's lugs 26mm vs 22mm on the 512, gives it a unique look.

I like the 512s looks but at 42mm, it's just too small.

The 512 is my PAM grail thanks to my small wrists. One day...

I have small wrists and the 512, 48, and the 337/8 are the only PAMs that fit. (Well there are others, but they don't look as nice.) I wish I could fit into a 292.

Here you go...

Comarison between the Radiomir 1940, Luminor, and the Speedy.

The PAMs are more comfortable to wear due to the flat caseback.

Yeah, I should've said, for me, it's too small. 44mm hits the spot. I feel your pain though. So many 47mms that I just can't wear.

I once tried on the pam512 at an AD, the fit and look were perfect. It's a really nice watch. But I've since become more a fan of the original radiomir. The shallow profile of the 512 makes for a really comfortable wear.
