I thought this was your one watch for life - is this a change of heart?

Not in the slightest.

I think the question was more, what WOULD you get next.

But I wouldn't get another one; so it is a bit of a hypothetical.

To the OP -
This is making no sense to me at all……
Correct me if I’m wrong - but this seems to be the second time in a week that you’ve posted a picture of you rocking your newly acquired Platinum DD 40 - The first post was lamenting the alleged theft of your missing links and the “high quote” to replace something that you obviously don’t need….. Now you post again and are talking about getting a $175,000 USD$$ watch when you just whined about $10K… You can’t have it both ways - you’re either a really rich dude who has $$$ to burn or you’re trying to impress utter strangers worldwide.

Let me explain.

I showed my friend my newly gotten DD. I did not tell me that I plan to keep the DD forever and it will be my one and only; so my friend asked what would you get next now that it seems you've acquired the ultimate Rolex(debatable).

I said, I'm not planning on getting anything; but if I were, many years down the track, I'd probably trade everything for a 5101P, which is in another league.

It is indeed a strange post and I couldn’t agree more with the above comments

Watch is lovely, no doubt about it, odd threads of late, but I don’t particularly care, I was almost brought up you can lie to others but not yourself … no idea what trying to achieve or purpose to it all .. the Watch you’re rocking is stunning all said and done …

That's a stunning piece, no matter the motivation or intent.

This. Surprised no one is pointing out that 36mm may genuinely have been a better fit for his wrist. OP had 5 links removed. Correct me if I'm wrong but DD40 looks disproportionately big on him and that's putting it mildly.

I think it’s a personal preference. The Pepsi and modern submariners are also big on most people’s wrists.

I’m not sure offshore really fits anyone who isn’t like 6’3.

Extensively. But I truly do not like the 36mm proportions. I know DD originally started as a 36mm, but in the current dd range, it seems they mainly designed the 40mm first, and the 36mm is kind of a supplemental range to the 40mm.

The 40mm seems to have the best dials, like rosegold+olive, yellow gold + lacquer green and ice blue with baguette all around.

But I mainly just do not like the current dd 36 proportions; just looks a bit out of whack for me. The 40mm is better proportioned for my eyes.
