One needs to go…

So I made a purchase. Decided to go a different route, but one needs to go now. I purchased a 26574OR.

Need to decide which one needs to go.

As I stated in this thread…

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=944071

I’m not putting 6 figures into a straight purchase, so whatever leaves the collection will help offset the cost of the new AP.

Which would you let go of?

(I’ll have a few Rolex left other than the Daytona, those will stay. The 5726 is the only PP in the collection)

One of these needs to go…

AP Openworked

PT Daytona

5726 Nautilus

Congratulations Richard … I’d let the AP go since you just bought the Rolex, and that would leave you with three different brands and beauties at that !

One needs to go…

LOVE that perp!

This is actually a tough one. I know this is the Patek subforum but the 5726 is probably my lease favorite in the nautilus line. I think it’s just the oversized date at 6 o clock. Please don’t take that the wrong way because it’s just personal preference!

However, given you should maintain a Patek in the collection I’d probably begrudgingly let the openworked go. It’s such a beautiful piece though…

Edit: this is tough what else in the collection can you sell lol

Kind of thinking along those lines right now….have a PP, AP, and Rolex lineup.
Thanks gentlemen

Probably the AP. Nice choice on the QP, as much as I love ceramic I also love PM as you know!

No brianet…AP for AP. That way you have brand diversity to fit the mood. The 5726 becomes a great sports calendar for the beach, water, etc. that’s what I did when I had multiples. I had a 5726 strap for dress and the 1/a for casual

Congratulations too!

Yes, you are right, it is a difficult choice. At first I thinked about that two APs might make your collection less versatile, but then I noticed another aspect: the Daytona is the only watch with a round and functional bezel, so I would keep it regardless of all other aspects. Agreeing with others, I wouldn't take PP out of this collection either. So it follows for me that this purchase could be a perfect AP-AP upgrade to a version that better suits your collection: one steel, one gold, and one Platona :)

I'd keep the double balance as it is the most special among the three IMO. As to the other two I prefer the 116506 baguette with ice blue subdials but then again the 5726 is among my least favorite Nautilus, so that one would go.

No way I’d let go of a double balance. The 5726 is out for me (also least favorite nautilus)

I agree with this.
I suspect you will revisit the Nautilus collection at a later date too :)

Yeah I’ve thought about it more and I’d let the 5726 walk too

Very nice purchase, congratulations for this catch!

In general, I would consider the ones I enjoy wearing (hence will wear) over diversity.

Here, even if I love Daytonas, I think I would sell it as I think a Nautilus is a must have (comfort, elegance, versatility, finishing, movement, one of the best dial color/rendering).

However, it depends on how you like/love your 5726. On a personal standpoint, I would have said to sell the 5726 (as I'm not a 5726 fan). Nevertheless, if the 5726 is a Nautilus you love and enjoy (like I enjoy a 5712 or 5711), then, no question, the Daytona would have to leave.

Those openwork AP are gorgeous (I loved and regret I didn't make the move toward the 1st 15305 version more than a decade ago). This one has to stay, even together with your new one, imho.

A dilemma many would like to share :)

Nautilus movement, finishing and color scheme is the worst of 3, not even close. Nautilus is cheaply made with pedestrian movement and flimsy bracelet..

I have no business posting in this thread, but I chime in and say trade in the existing AP and keep brand diversity

Woah man. More pics please.
I’m sure you know that’s the one to keep. What an incredible watch. You have great taste.
I’d dump the nautilus here.
If it’s between this and the openwork, that’s a tough one but I’d keep this new one I think.
Just dump whatever you’re wearing least. You change them all up so often I doubt you’ll have any of them forever so just do what you gotta do. But I wouldn’t send this new one straight back.
Just wow!

I’d sell the house instead. These are all grails and impossible to kick one out. I hate to say this, but last in first out in this case for me. Those bottom blues flanking the openwork is THE trio for me.

For MY personal taste and opinion drop the Platona. That AP is a masterpiece and Patek makes up a majority of my collection so I am Bias!

Daytona did go, 15407ST stayed. Nautilus here now but probably replacing with 5270J

Love Pateks but can’t stand the 26A. Easy choice for Me and then add an Aqua later or something to get back into the brand

As crazy as it is to say it, the 5726 is my least favourite.

Those two APs can and should co exist in a collection. Both phenomenal

The way this collection is going id plan for a 5740 in future perhaps.
