GRNR is in line with the old tradition of releasing first in PM then TT then SS, thought they might also do a right VTNR if no Coke this year, and just something on a Sub, really poor showing.

I don’t understand all the complaints. Can’t recent the wheel every year and bring out spectacular pieces.
Last year was already quite exciting with the colourful day-date variations, the celebration dial as well as glass casebacks.

I was excited when the Daytona got the 4130, though you’re not a Daytona fan Padi. But I do think the broader introduction of the 6 digits was pretty exciting. The last 12 years though a lot more boring. Rolex just keeps releasing what people really want in SS in precious metal instead, so they can make more money. The last innovative introduction imo was the Sky D. Rolex could’ve went after some of that upper market with perpetual calendar, minute repeater, or double split chronograph. But instead they made nostalgic variations in precious metal. Carrot on the string to buy more to get what you want approach but I bet if they would’ve just made SS GMT Masters more readily available, you’d have a lot more folks that become enthusiasts of the brand rather than people that look at the watches as currency like we see encouraged by the current buying environment.

Exactly through out my three decades collecting journey, not once I heard Rolex fans are delighted.. eg.. everyone unhappy with ceramic bezel

I could care less what mines worth. I bought it because it’s a wonderful modern interpretation of a classic piece of horological history.

It’s been a regular rotation watch for me since the 2018 launch

Yup... and that is exactly how it should be.

TRF should consolidate threads to:

Maybe they will add the coke. Could they discontinue a GMT mid year?

A lot of people? Maybe they should consider collecting Baseball cards, or Gathering, and BTC looks impressive.

See, many of us remember when enthusiasts were into timepieces for the love of it. Am glad to see us getting back to that

I'm actually glad it was not discontinued. I don't want to feel insecure wearing a 40k SS watch. I'm happy that the market price will likely come down now that the rumor is dispelled. (well, hopefully).

Do you mean a 41mm DJ with fluted dial? Motif could be anything. Palm, jubilee, celebration, fluted and the list goes on..

The issue is that for many these new releases are great, no matter how much they are more of the same.... because Rolex doesn't care about innovating anymore ... what matters to it is that there is a waiting list for almost all models and that many people are desperate to have a crown on their wrist,...

Tudor innovates on old models as well and points more to the public that does not want a jewel on the wrist but a watch that is not so striking...

Rolex turned to an audience that wants to attract attention and Tudor was like what was always a watch to use without caring where or how

Oh you have got your knickers in a twist!

"Lots of". You don't have to include yourself in the lots. Feel free to stand separate, it's your choice.

I think had I used the phrase "everyone" you could assume I wasn't allowing you a choice and tarring you with a brush.

Yeah I'm a mere novice newcomer. Just to clarify what year did you this forum? I'd appreciate you not advising me what to collect.

Have a lovely day.

There's a lot to unpack on your post, tho since i'm reeeeeally happy today.... Absolutely pretty please with sugar on top and a cherry procure what you love, enjoy your time. Am very much glad you're enjoying fine timepiece, truly am. It's wonderful to see the market regain (some of) the sanity it lost over the years.

Have a lovely day. YR 2007
YR 1980s, though really the 1990s at TimeZone with Kari V, William M, and others so will give you that. PP 5035rg when first released, since some might not count Swatches and whatnot before that i guess.

It's indeed a very lovely day....
