fantasy versus reality

Most of the posters in here are vintage watch owners owing very desirable pieces especially comex, military subs, DRSD's, etc

Sure there's a lot of guys like myself saving hard to land that first vintage & hoping to turn fantasy into reality. I thought I was maybe about 30% there towards funds for a nice clean 1680 & then saw the red sub of my dreams on Andrew Shears site earlier this week which totally made me realise that I was probably only about 5/ 10% for what I really wanted. For about 24 hours - I seriously comtemplated selling my one of my m\bikes, my 14 year old Omega SMP & my medal collection to try to get the watch but it was on hold by the next day.

A new bathroom & a family holiday coming in have led to a stall in my savings plan so come July - back to ebay, saving, overtime

This time next year, this time next year ........ !!

Anyway how about cheering me up with your ultimate "best of the best" shot of your 1680 ..... !!

I don;t have one either but have over many. Keep putting some money away, it'll come in handy when the right "red" appears......

I don't have a sub (yet), but..:
To me, while sure diggin' the dial of a red sub, I'd first spend that kind of dough when I win the lottery.
Until then, I'd go for a nice "normal" 1680. They seem incredible watches, even without the SUBMARINER .
But that's just me..

First of all it's the hunt, even more than the catch, that really gets our hearts racing. A second, when you do finally land a cool vintage on your wrist it will be that much sweeter.

Until the right 1680 comes along, here is a pic of me and my father's Red 1680. It is a GREAT watch! Get rid of that cyclops - it just obscures a great dial!
