I'm usually a fan of IWC - but what were they thinking w this new collection??

The carbon fiber examples just look crappy.

And the price tags - fuggetabouit!

Looking fwd to seeing the rolex line.

Agree. Not a big fan of the design and I love the base calibre.

Also, I am getting confused with where Cartier is going. They keep rolling out these unbelievable watches that appear to be extremely complicated and innovative in terms of watchmaking, but are something maybe a handful of people in the world will actually ever own.

As a consequence, they seem to be ignoring the masses with some lets say "uninspired" pieces of late.

I have like IWCs for a while, but lately they are so BIG - 46 mm Ingenieurs - who is going to wear them?

The IWC with a partial wheel, and the one with three pistons, engraved on the rotor... Couldn't be more cringe inducing. Horrid. I would think that was stupid on a child's watch.

The 40mm Ingeneiur has potential. $6600 list should translate to $5K range, good price point. Hopefully we'll get a better live shot.

5k for an IWC with an ETA movement isn't a superb deal. I'd take a used 3227 over that any day.

You're comparing new vs used. A used or discounted 3239 will cost less than a used 3227.

That may be true. However, it seems that mint 3227s can be found for around $4200 on the forums. Do you actually think this new one will go for below $4500 with a discount? Regarding used versus used, you are 100% correct - this new one won't hold value like the 3227 has.

At least it doesn't have pistons engraved on the back...

Joel
I would more than happy to wear a 46mm watch all day every day.
