Incoming

This arrived by RMSD today.

It is the first Blancpain I have owned ( and coincidentally, I just had a text from someone who has a RG FF to show me, so it may not be alone long )

I am just getting to look closely at it. Already it is blindingly obvious that Blancpain's idea of great finish is some considerable echelons above most peoples. To say that the finish on the dial and hands is utterly magnificent would be a hopeless understatement. This is a watch for the severely OCD among us, a group I readily admit membership of.

It is 40mm and in thickness measures 8.6mm. Thin but not in the class of Piaget or some JLC and Vacheron for thinness. A very comfortable fit with the double , spring loaded deployant. I have handled many Pateks lately, as I am looking for one. They are as well finished as this, but not any better. I am awaiting a Moser, probably IMO the best finished movements available. But in terms of dial and case, not better,
I would argue that it simply isn't possible to finish dial hands and case any better than this . It is absolute perfection. Knowing this, is enough already to make everything about the watch great.
The FP ( now owned by BP ) movement with its thickness of only 3.75 mm, twin barrels and RDM of an incredible 100 hours beats at 21600 VPH. A speed that would normaly have me wishing for a small seconds rather that the big seconds. However the balance of the dial would suffer with a sub dial, so I can forgive the slightly hobbly second hand. I will concentrate on the satisfying sound produced by these slower movements instead.

All in all this is a truly great watch, from a house that deserves a lot more WIS attention than it gets right now.

The photos Q and D sorry. But aren't all my photos :o

What a stunning timepiece, I have only seen Blancpain watches through display windows but must admit they look incredible (and so does does this one), many congratulations!

May I ask what the case material is? Is it white gold or stainless steel?

The case is SS. The hands and applied romans are WG and the Rotor is gold.
