Could someone please give me some guidelines regarding this watch. Does it seems original with all parts origin to production year? Guess iPad is not the best tool to load up pictures. More to come tomorrow :-)

That is a "Precomex" dial not a Maxi. You did not give the serial number of the watch; however, these dials are typically seen in the 5.1 mil serial. Hands match the lume on the dial well enough.

Tanks for the info :-) Nice to know its a precomex. Then the case/ serial number seems to match the dial. Another question.... What do you guys think of the lugs and the fact that the year of production is missing on the back case???? To me the lugs holes seems a bit worn out but the seller tells me everything is unpolished and in great condition. I'm not shure if i should buy this seller but the price is really tempting. He also suggests escrow service so what can go wrong?

I would not worry about date code absent on case back as it is normal. I don't want to split hairs over whether a watch is unpolished or polished a few times. However, the lugs are fat and lug holes sharp. Dial is correct for serial number. Hands appear to match the dial well. Looks very nice, original and unmolested. If the watch sings to you and price is right, I would go for it.

Long story, but a real low price combined with a fake mail from z.i.m integrated shipping did it for me. Wrote back that I had executed the payment though :-) A con' man with broken expectations :-D . It's nothing like a free lunsh... Guess I need to pay what it's worth.

I just checked the DRSD website and noticed this :

"It is also interesting to note that the Type I 551x depth rating & SUBMARINER fonts are extremely similar to one very special date model, the COMEX 1680"

But how do you recognize the pre Comex dial ?

Does it has the older than the COMEX 1680 dials ?

the bracelet is a replacement. Some oxidation on hands. case condition is average to good. Precomex is a very sought after. So if the price is right, go for it.
