Get the one you like the most as you will likely inherit it about 120 years , wish your dad the best of health and good enjoyment of your future watch

Jeez... Some of Y'all act like 60 is getting old with talk about eyesight. Remember: 60 is the new 30 (at least as far as i'm concerned) :)

That said, what a thoughtful son. I'm sure whatever you decide, he will be delighted.

This^^^^^a very special watch for sure!

So many choices really. If you want to keep it as a surprise gift I'd at least have a little talk with him and ask his advice on what his likes are for "your" next "thinking of a purchase" would be.

He has a diver so the Sea Dweller would be out - the Explorer II would be versatile and still give him the sport feel he is used to with the Hulk.

EXP 2. The white face is brilliant.

Here are a few options I'm considering:

1) Sea-Dweller (steel)

2) Rolex DateJust 126300 Blue dial

3) Explorer II - Polar dial

What are your thoughts? Any others I should consider? I'm very excited to see the look on his face when he opens the gift! :)
Wouldn't it be great if you could go for a nice lunch with your Dad. Later you both go for a walk and drop into your AD to look at the latest offerings and have it set up with your AD to have the three you are pondering sitting in its own case in the back office of store awaiting your arrival. Once there have someone bring them out, place them in the showcase without your dad's knowledge, look them over and pick his favorite. You could simply say Happy Birthday Dad, thanks for being you, I love you and ask the clerk to engrave the occasion on the case back and wrap it up. Better still have it on his wrist when he leaves the store.
Wish my dad was still here with us so I could do the same. I sure it will make you and your dads day. Enjoy and embrace your time together. Oh...pass on a BIG Happy Birthday to your Dad for me.
Post some pictures and let us know how it turns out.

Explorer II since he already has a Sub. If you go with the DJ, I'd suggest getting one with the Oyster bracelet since your dad is a casual guy.

I would usually lean this way... however, currently there really isn’t enough inventory at most stores to make this experience enjoyable imo. Maybe it’s different in Canada...

If u and ur dad talk about watches at all, u should have pretty good idea what he likes and dislikes. Go with ur gut

The sd43 and the exp2 are 43mm and 42mm watches, respectively. Make sure ur dad likes the larger watches and/or can pull it off comfortably.

Both are great. But since ur dad chose the hulk over the regular black dial sub, I would think the white dial on the polar exp2 would be way to go

Good luck and keep us posted

DJ with the Blue dial would go great with your Dad’s Hulk. You’re a great son to do that for your Dad!
