Nwa 15503bc

Ok gents and lady’s I have been hunting for this watch for quite a while now as BLUE is my jam. I picked this up on the Moda forum auction for $59k retail of the 15510BC at retail is $65,800

This is The Japan edition 15503BC blue dial White Gold

It’s arrives tomorrow

It does appear to wear larger than my 15400ST and way bigger than my 39mm ROs both precious metals. The 15503BC is 41mm and 10.5mm thick

I like the white gold that’s rhodium coated so the white gold really is bright making the contrast with the bright blue dial that much brighter and makes the dial pop

Thoughts please from anyone who has 15500 and the 15202 as a comparison to which you like better.

Congrats!! Without question, AP makes the best WG in the game. Really something that needs to be seen in person to be appreciated.

Well this didn’t go good!!!!

Cautionary tale !!!!!!!!

Thank god one of the dealers I buy from agreed to be the middle man

1- yes I asked for photos and video before it was shipped and you can see he did a shit job and now I know why!!
2- the image of the watch in the ad was clearly not the watch that I bought
3- no I did not pay before it was shipped I used a middle man
4- Yes he threatened to have me removed from MODA (I immediately messaged the admins) all is good I have receipts for everything I will add them here
5- yes I returned the watch it was never in my possession

So today the middle man one of the dealers I use got the watch delivered to him in Orlando and I immediately asked for photos and video and was shocked at the quality of the watch wow what a disappointment it was to say the least

Big time Dings and chips on the case and the bezel, it's definitely not just a polish. It would have to be a laser job or new bezel. All the lights scratches on the bracelet can be refinished. Then there's a dent on the side of the case like around 9 o'clock
Also missing at least 2 links each link $1000 (the middle man couldn’t find the links)

So I immediately messaged the seller hoping he might negotiate on the price because to get a new white gold bezel from AP Ain’t cheap and a laser job is still $1000+ and then weeks without the watch! this watch needs thousands of dollars to even make this close enough

I have removed all the names

I will do another post with receipts

This is a great case of a near miss if I would have paid for this before shipping this could have ended very badly, also the level of DECEPTION this guy was running on me to sell me a watch that clearly did not match the description and was damaged!!!

1- Me asking the dealer for photos and video before shipping. Unfortunately I can’t post the video but it’s shit quality video and shows none of the damage

Damn, sorry to hear that. I’ve use MODA in the past with some success, but you did the right thing and using a middleman and being extremely cautious. And most importantly, having receipts.

I get if you don’t want to, but I’d be outing such shady dealers with no remorse

So sorry to hear your experience but glad you took the right precautions. I am very careful with all my watches but how is it even possible to damage a watch that bad. Looks almost intentional.

"described as needs a polish whether that's minor laser work or not doesn't really make a difference"

this is hilarious to read as if a polish and laser work on gold are in the same category, and then to flip it on you and try to get you banned from the group lol. personally i would name shame if they're actually a retail facing grey

I have already had 2 bad experiences buying unseen watches and thankfully now have some amazing dealers and friends to help me as a collector

Ah dang
I’m curious, I don’t know, what is a mint example from a dealer listed for? How good of a deal was that at 59 vs whatever? How much are you willing to pay for one? Or are you over it?
If it was a great deal, for example dealers are wanting 65 or so, at least you could wear it hard and enjoy it and then get it cleaned up once it’s not your newest watch.. I recently got a new 16202 and to be honest it’s just sitting here. Usually when I get a new watch I wear the heck out of it the first few weeks at least but I’m so hesitant to put it on in the mornings because it’s such a commitment to take care of it all day. I don’t sit in an office and am usually out and about doing all kinds of stuff and will bang it up. Just haven’t gotten that first scratch yet where I’m like ok f it. I guess what I’m saying is the grass is always greener! I’m kinda wishing I could get a watch like that (for the right price of course) that I can wear the hell out of it and not think about it. Sounds nice haha. (I guess I have about 20 of those! lol)

Well, never mind then. Apparently the Moda lingo needs some calibration - seems there's quite a difference between "light polish" and "polish" And I just can't get over the industry practice of selling everything a few links short. How did that become acceptable?

An extra complication is that the AP WG is rhodium plated; wonder how much that complicates things

Wow dodged a huge bullet having to deal with the watch if you actually get it. That's so shady tho with the bait and switch.

I’m glad you lucked out here but I literally posted in a different thread about “trusted dealers” on Moda selling hacked up APs.
