Considering adding 5164a again...new or old clasp?

Hey all, back from the dead as I'm considering adding a 5164a to the collection for a third time (yes I know.. I know)

I've had one with the original "P" design clasp that came out with the watch, and one from 2022 with the updated thicker clasp with the spades that looked really nice and felt more robust

However, the newer clasp was a lot more uncomfortable to my wrist when the straps were sized because there's a small bulge internally on the clasp to hold the locking mechanism that kept pressing directly against my wrist tendons, while the older style clasp was completely flat and smooth internally

Very subjective and first world problem for sure, but was hoping to poll on here if anyone is religious about the clasps either way or has any input or experience to chime in

Appreciate it!

I got the new clasp and installed it. Found it uncomfortable as the OP said. Put my old one back on and sold the new one. Probably depends on wrist shape and sensitivity.

If cut the strap right.... I prefer the new deployant clasp...

YMMV...

Cheers,

OP, if your comfort matters, then the old clasp.

I've had both. New clasp is better in every way to me. I don't feel any discomfort

This feels akin to the Daytona "11 versus 12 debate" that makes me chuckle as its my Rolex grail (my vote is 11 in white and 12 in black).

I yearn for the day I'm in a position to acquire my PP grail (5164) and be troubled with which clasp I like more!
