I wear a DD 36 and have a 7.5 inch wrist. It’s a good size.

My DJ41 is minimum size in my opinion, I don’t believe this is a trend and can’t see men wearing small 36mm watches again in the future
Would love to see a picture of that on your wrist, hard to imagine it looked that bad. If you want a Rolex to look like a Nixon then sure, below 40 is too small. But for classic proportions 39-40 seems perfect for a 7" wrist and 36 should look smaller but certainly not feminine.

Well said. One more factor as well: height. All other things being equal, a 36mm watch will generally wear better on a shorter to average-height gent than, say, one who is 6'5.

If you prefer a slightly smaller watch, definitely get it. It's all purely a matter of personal taste.

The Day Date 40 is imho the perfect size but a bit flashy and obviously expensive.

Case shape also has a lot to with perceived size (more square = larger), as do integrated bracelets (look bigger), as do dial colors (darker looks smaller, whiter looks larger), as do thin bezels (more dial, less bezel = bigger looking). Definitely try before you buy in this case!
good to know I can fit a Platinum Daytona with 7 inch wrist tho ;P

For generations men wore watches in the 30-36mm range. While it may not be in vogue now, classic style is classic for a reason. 36mm is fine.

From my experience, on pictures 36mm looks appropriate , but in person it seems too small and feminine on my 7.25 inch wrist. 39mm is my lower limit for most watches.

I got my datejust 36mm TT as my graduation gift 30 years ago. I was 175 lbs, 7.25 inches wirst. Now 150 lbs and my datejust on my 7 inches wrist.

I have a 7 inch wrist, I wear smaller vintage watches in the 35 to 38mm all the way up to a 50mm digital and everything in between. No right or wrong, just what makes you happy...

Whatever makes you happy but IMO a 36mm piece is for a woman or a slight man with wrists under 7". So many women wearing 39 and 40mm these days. My wife wears a 36 and 39mm OP but will rock my 16710 on occasion.

Datejust, DD.......I prefer the 36mm models. I like the proportions and comfort on the wrist.

Sport models.....40-41mm. Although my GADA watch is 39mm Explorer.

Wrist size: 7 inch.

PS: I also own 34mm watches. Have a look here for my take on the 34mm OP and judging the size

True. See the Explorer on today’s WRUW , it looks like a satellite dish on a bracelet.

I agree with you!!!

In my opinion its better that a watch is smaller than to big!

I have small wrist and to be honest I'm not comfortable with the modern day MAXI size cases - I find it looks ridiculous on me.

The 36mm DJ is a classic and fits my wrist perfectly, probably better than any other size in the Rolex lineup!!

If I were to dive into the Professional Sports models it would be the 5 digits hands down!!

The ability of he human mind to deceive itself is infinite. Those young men who wear their pants around their knees genuinely believe that looks good. Never wear something you'll be embarrassed to see in a pic in 20 years. LOL,how many of you have gone around deleting pics of yourself with that spiffy pointy headed haircut you had a few years ago? :)

The classics will never embarrass you, a 36mm on your tiny wrist will always look good, a hubcap size watch on that same wrist may make you feel like your pants are down around your knees in a few years. I know you think it looks great but trust me, there are those looking at you who wonder 'what the hell is that guy thinking'?

Do whatever you wish, at the end of the day you're the only one who cares. :)

How about because it looks good on him, regardless of his job or the character he plays.

He wears that watch, not the other way around.

I can and do, happily and comfortably, wear watches ranging from 36 to 47mm all the time. Do what you want, when you want, no rules regarding this aspect of life.

My wife says it looks too small. .

On a serious note, I could wear a dressy 36mm watch on my 18,5cm/7.2in wrist, but I prefer 38-40mm.

what a pointless discussion. Its all relative to the wearer's height and wrist/arm proportion.
