I propose that “For Sale” threads (of which there are more and more) should stay in the Classifieds section and should not pop up on the “New Posts” pages…

As an avid "New Post" user I can see it both ways. Kinda interesting to observe what the market is experiencing, what's hot, what's not. But it does take up some TRF bandwidth in terms of sheer number of posts.

Same here. You'd think after 12 years on TRF (and 10 as a Mod), I'd have clicked on that before now

However - if you look at viewing numbers after each section name, the two main classifieds (Rolex and Non-Rolex) are pretty much always the 2nd and 3rd most-viewed sections after Rolex General Discussion, so the latest updates from them should probably be up there to easily find, along with all the other New Posts.

I always just hit “new posts” when I surf the forum. The sales ads pop up but in no time they are gone as new posts populate the forum.

Every now and then I’ll see a watch for sale that interests me which I otherwise wouldn’t have looked at.

I sort of like it as is

Sorry I don't think any change is necessary.
If you scroll down you can quickly identify the new threads you are interested in and those you are not.
Some people may wish to see the new for sale threads so it works both ways or those who do and those who don't.
Its an easy process of elimination and it would not be fair to favour or exclude a particular forum from the 'new threads' list.

Is it necessary to duplicate the boutique listings twice in the new post section Steve?

Sometimes I can scroll through 4 pages (x25 posts) in the ‘new posts’ and find only 5 or 6 posts that are not for sale listings.

I've heard of "lazy bones" but "lazy eyes" is a new one.

I am 99% TapaTalk nowadays and using the "recent unread" filter helps me.

They didn't want to take a position, but I would like to note that it is enough to be away for about two days, and the 21 pages will fill up, as many "new topics" as this opportunity is able to show. In such cases, it is very confusing that due to the doubling of the "sold/for sale" topics, you cannot see what was happened in the other topics.
