Let's talk Doxa

I don't see Doxa brought up on here much, so I would love to hear your thoughts on the brand, models, etc...

Been eyeing this Sub 300 Searambler for awhile and might make the jump soon:

I have two. I like them. I picked up the LE Mission 31 when it was being sold then I got the all white Sub 200 Whitepearl for a fun summer watch recently. Funny thing is I have received more comments on those two watches then my entire collection.

The Doxa of today started life in 1997 when the name was bought by the Jenny family who own and operate Walca.
https://www.walca.ch/

Doxa is produced @ walca as far as I know. They use quality Swiss movements and are fairly well made.

A few years ago there was a meltdown between their sales guy, who made the Doxa dive watches popular again, mostly in the US, during the last 2 decades.
That is in the past now and it seems both parties found their peace (more or less)

Doxa Sub is legendary and it was one of the few watches preferred by the famous Jacques Cousteau. I have the Sub 1200T and the Sub 300 SilverLung. They are great watches and make a nice addition to any collection. Lots of information in WUS where they have a dedicated forum.

Thanks for all the responses and really cool to see that some of you own Doxa's! I think for me, the main appeal outside of its heritage with some of histories greatest divers, is that Doxa is in its own little world in terms of design.

I've never seen one in person, but I REALLY love to see them in photos... I do wonder if I wouldn't like it on my wrist, however... It's one I need to try in person... If it works, it's on my shortlist...

I'd likely go for the Sub 300 orange or silver dial... a tough choice.

That's kind of where I am at. I have been a fan of them for years, but purely through online pictures. I don't have a Doxa dealer near me, so trying one on or seeing one in person near impossible.

Love the brand. I’m considering one of the new forged carbons.

Doxa has Always interested me, as many dive watches usually do. I like there design and colors. My AD has recently started carrying them.

Thinking seriously about bringing one home.

I've bought my sister two. She's a serious former commercial diver with certifications in just about everything. She swears by them and loves them

Picked this up last week - new ceramic Doxa army - and threw it on a black tropic. Looks amazing.

I'd been eyeing a Doxa 300 or 300T for years now. I love that their design language is quite different from the archetypal Seamaster 300 or Submariner styles of dive watch design, or indeed from the JLC compressor case type.

I'd hesitated because I'd never seen one in person, but I happened to run into someone wearing a silver-dialed 300T last year and he let me try it on– it has that Seiko diver quality of wearing incredibly well even at a size that is big on paper. It's certainly easier said than done (we all remember the SubC, which wore bigger than considerably larger watches!)

Anyway, I finally ordered one! The steel Army model seemed just right. I didn't much care for the bronze bezel/green insert model, even though I've liked some other applications of bronze, so I went for the black/stainless bezel.

How are you finding yours, pilgrim? I love the design but I'm afraid of ceramic watches, so I'm glad they ended up making it in steel.

I also just acquired a Silver Lung. I’ll have to check out WUS?
