150th Anniversary Wild Cards

There's a few likely contenders for what we're actually going to see for the 150th anniversary, new QP, new openwork etc. But after digging through the archives there's some wild card contenders that I think would make great returns for the 150th anniversary or at least are interesting to think about.

The 15909 Hobnail Everything:
Early 70s reference AP with a full hobnail bezel and dial. AP is seriously lacking an ultrathin dress watch and something like this sized up to 39mm would be a serious hit in my opinion.

The AP "Precision" watches of the 1930s-40s:

Looks like a chronograph with the duel registers, but this baby is time only. These watches repurposed a valjoux chronograph movement to provide a more accurate time only watch. A neat callback to this watch would be pretty cool as it captures the innovation of watchmakers at the time doing all they can to chase precision.

AP Downmarket Bands APCO, Audiguet:
During the mid 1940s AP was in a really tough spot financially. In order to make the numbers work, AP started releasing a line of less expensive watches under the label of APCO and Audiguet. While unlikely, the revival of these brands may provide an affordable entry point for AP DNA at a reduced price from the price of their current offerings and focus on vintage styling leaving AP for the more avant-garde watches. Pretty much what MB&F is doing with their MAD1 collection.

What are some wild card picks you would like to see for the 150th?

They should just bring out whatever was iconic for each decade, but 15 references would be kind of a lot

The hobnail everything is one of my favorites of that era. I just wish it was a bit bigger. It's also fairly hard to find a good condition reference complete with bracelet but they do pop up every once in awhile if you're looking for them.

My SA says they're focusing on high comps this year but I would also love to see some of these more traditional looking watches. Loved the Remaster 01 and hope to see more of that.

I think it's more than 15 references for the 150th.

Wouldn't be surprised as AP is basically a fancier Hublot at the moment.
