Nothing is for dinner - as I have a gas oven and hob and the gas board has accidentally severed through the supply to our street and is going to be working all night long to restore it - true.

So, I'll start with beer and nuts, move on to wine and crisps (potato chips) and finish on brandy and biscuits.

Bon appétit!

I posted in another thread about the La Trattoria restaurant in Adelaide.

I had lunch there with my project manager on Thursday and had to put up a pix of the marinara.
It is the best.

Hi M,

It's a family restaurant and the kitchen is run by mum.
They go to the local central market each morning and buy only the freshest seafood.
If it's not fresh it won't be on the menu.
The pasta is always 'al dente'.
I don't know how they manage to be so consistant.

Come and try it.

That dish alone is worth a trip down under.

Just been told by the contractors that the whole gas main has to be relaid from the road as they can't connect the old one up.

This is going to take four days starting Monday morning.

They're giving us hotplates and fan heaters....

I am in awe of the absolute incompetence of British Gas.

It would be funny if they didn't take the p**s on energy prices, etc.
