Pre-incoming?
So I finally got my local AD to accept a deposit for a 5164/a.
The way they work is if you put a deposit down, you will actually get the piece eventually. Weird state of wristwatch collecting where I get excited to put a deposit down haha. Now the next question is, is there anyone out there that has kept both the 5167 and 5164? How much wear do you get from both? I am planning on keeping both personally but just interested what others thoughts were. I love the 5167 and the thinness, but I am VERY much looking forward to a more complicated Patek.

Hope my AD will never ask for a deposit as I am not in the business of funding watch dealers. Patek does not endorse any deposits AFAIK. I get the risk for an AD if they order a not-in-demand watch specifically for you, but a deposit for 5164? They can sell it to the next best guy on their wait list in case you jumped ship. Zero risk for them. Rant over and apologies for hijacking your thread.

I have a 5168g and a 5164a. My 5168g is a fun summer watch and something I like to wear in the pool or on vacation. The 5164a serves a different purpose and accompanies me on business trips and to work meetings. To me, they have very different personalities.

I do find myself hitting the door ways with thicker/taller watches these days after being used to thin watches like the 67.

Don’t own either but I think I might find the 67 redundant if I owned the 64.

I own both and while they’re the same color scheme, they wear quite differently. The 5167 is so thin and comfortable that it’s so easy to grab out the box. The 5164 is more substantial and obviously has the terrific travel complication. I also bought a green tempomat strap for my 5167 that differentiates them a bit. There’s definitely room for both of them in a collection.

I own both, and unfortunately the 5167 is now rarely worn.

The 5164A-001 may be the closest thing to the perfect watch. I personally love mine and look forward to you incoming shots when you get it. Congrats
