214270 without AD relationship

Is it possible to buy or put my name on the waiting list for Explorer 214270 at local AD? I don’t have any purchase history, but if unless it’s not Daytona or Gmt, is it possible to buy Sub or Explorer?

What did your AD say when you asked them to be put on their list?

Should we call your AD for you and ask?

That could be fun.

Where on Earth is your AD?

This would be helpful to know.

Or you could ask them and tell us. That would also be helpful.

I did it with a Sub Date in MI. Just go in there and chat, make sure they know you aren't flipping it. There was an Exp I in the case when I bought my Sub so it might be easier than others.

Same thing happened to me but the first AD I went to took my name/number but said an SS sport model was a long shot. Second AD had a couple sport model's in the safe and let me pick! We established a good connection and i got lucky.

I've been offered that reference at places with no purchase history, and I politely turn it down each time (it's not for me).

Yes, that is very much an attainable watch. And to be honest, I suspect ADs might even stop the pretending and just begin to display it in the cases instead of pretending it's an "allocation piece."

I guess it depends on your location. I haven't seen any on my piece of the earth for quite awhile.

I see them occasionally in ADs but outside of Europe. Ask and see?

Seen two in AD windows last few months. They are relatively easy to find or with small wait.

You should not ask if you can do it but rather you should do it.
You have to knock the door in order to have someone opening it.
Don’t be fooled by the internet.

Some people have got what they wanted from an A.D without purchase history, others have history and have had to wait quite a while... hit and miss I guess, depends on your A.D too though.

Lucidos in Birmingham. It was August of last year. Good luck! :) I called and chatted with them a bit then had one within a few days. But like I said they actually had a few SS and TT sport in the display.
