SD43 or GMT BLNR for £750 more?

I am about to trade my milgauss Gv for a SD43 with a dealer but have now found another dealer offering the trade against a GMT BLNR but would have an extra £750 to pay.
I really like both watches but can only go for one or the other, will be a daily wearer for me, which would you go for and why please?

Forgot to say, SD43 is a 2019 and GMT is a 2015 Batman

If you prefer a GMT function with blue bezel and no warranty then GMT is a good choice. If you prefer s bigger watch without GMT but with black bezel with a warranty and longer PR, then the SD.

Have had the pleasure of both, both brilliant pieces but different feel on the wrist. Would strongly advise to try both on and see which suits you. Whatever you end up with you will love.

Forgive me for my certain lack of understanding here - can you swap the milgauss with no cash for the sd43?? the SD43 is a massive chunk of top heavy diver with very substantial strap and over engineered buckle - that won't sit easily on many wrists (mine included, sadly)

BLNR for sure.
SD43 is very nice too but the GMT feels better on the wrist, especially if your wrist is not too big!

Either way, its a good deal for you. I would choose either one over a Milgauss, and 750 quid on top of it for a GMT is a steal.

If it were me then I'd go with the BLNR, but I travel a lot and definitely use the GMT function more. The SD43 is a bigger watch altogether and is pretty meaty on the wrist (at least for me).

Let us know what you end up choosing!

SD43, especially if it's the one you really wanted in the first place.

Plus... if I've understood you corrrectly, the GMT would be a chunk more money for a 5 year old watch that cost less in the first place?
People will just pick the one they like personally, so best just to go with the one you're most drawn to.

SD43 or GMT BLNR for £750 more?

It depends on the size of your wrist. If it’s above 7 inches I would get the sd43. If it’s below the BLNR. If you owned the Milgauss you might like the slightly thicker sd43. It has more wrist presence then the BLNR and also the newest movement with 70 hour power reserve. You will get a newer watch with a higher RRP and still save 750 pounds.

I had the Batman for a few months and while I liked it at 40mm it was kind of small and thin. Didn’t like how I had to change the day and time with it either. Both are great watches but you will get more bang for the buck with the SD43. Plus not a fan of PCL On a sports watch.

For the record I own my own business. Have a 7.25 inch wrist and don’t ever have to dress up. If I dressed up in a shirt and tie I would get the BLNR.

I prefer gmts as I find them more comfortable. If you have a large wrist the SD is a fine choice as well.

Very different watches. Ideally you should get both! I'd pick the SD.

SD43
- Much heavier
- Not very blingy
- Wrist Presence
- Better case:bracelet ratio
- Best thing is the complete package

BLNR
- More dainty
- Some bling
- Lighter
- Square case
- Best thing is the bezel

If your heart is set on SD43 go with it . The BLNR is a good looking watch but doesn’t have the presence the SD43 and the durability for a diver . Good luck !

To the SD43 side you forgot to add the AMAZING glidelock system which for me, is so hard to beat and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get a watch without it.

for above average size wrist (6.75inch above). the SD43 will be a good one watch collection

if you have 6.5in below, better stick with gmt

Going from a Milgauss...you'll be more used to the weight with the SD43. For a one/done daily driver I'd go for the SD43. For me it just works...though YMMV.

For a daily, 100% the GMT. It’s much more wearable than the SD43 and I’m a fan of the dweller. Sometimes we make things harder than they need to be, just look at the dimensions and go with what makes sense. The smaller case size, thinner thickness and less weight will be more wearable. Coming from someone who has worn each reference for over a year as a respective daily.

SD43 or BLNR

I am assuming you are going to keep the watch you trade for and not flip it immediately. With the BLNR retailing at $9700 and the SD43 at $11700 and a Milgauss retailing for $8300 (sorry I don't know the prices in GBP) I don't get the trade difference. If a dealer is willing to give you a new or comparable condition SD43 for a Milgauss with no cash that seems like a better deal. But either deal is very good especially if the SD43 and the BLNR are new, in fact those dealers are crazy either way.

If you are not diving with the watch then as a daily wearer the BLNR will be more comfortable and probably more reasonable to wear with a wider variety of outfits.

I own the SD43 and a BLRO and the are my favorite Rolex watches of any model. I am a Diver professionally so I lean toward the SD43 but I am willing to admit the the GMT is a nicer watch for everyday wear and I would not hesitate to dive it either.

IMO (admittedly not worth much) if you have less than a 7" wrist get the BLNR regardless of other factors.
