I bought my TT Daytona in my late 20's. This was my first "nice" watch but my first hobby/love was always cars. I did want something that peacocked since I was always the youngest executive in the room. Kind of the same thing as a Mont Blanc pen. It did help people take me a little more seriously, even if nothing was said.

Not my thing. My dad wears a DJII in TT. I've tried it on a few times and it looks nice, but I'm a SS kinda guy.

Honestly I feel the TT DJ 36mm with the super jubilee bracelet is the best looking TT watch out there

You can tell age by the wrist shots here?

TT in my 20's?

Haha, no chance, too busy getting career up and running, getting married, buying a house and starting a family. Bloody hell I struggled to buy a cheap beater watch.

Today, my mortgage is paid, kids are independent, I am now financially secure so a TT watch is my next purchase, hopefully a Rolex, possibly a Daytona.

But I am an old git and certainly not in my 20's, it would have been nice to have a TT watch in my younger years but alas it was not to be, but congratulations to those that have bought one.

“Peacocked”?

I’ve never heard that term before

What does that mean?

Yup, bought a TT DJ41 a month out from my 29th birthday late last year. Just bought my second Rolex yesterday.

My wife bought me a 16613 TT black Sub date for a wedding present while in my late 20s. I wore it every day for 18 years except for two combat deployments- didn’t want it to end up a war trophy for the enemy.

It has survived a lot of flight time in tactical fighters and desk time in service uniform. I was originally going for a SS model back then, but my wife’s opinion was that a TT can dress up or down. I couldn’t agree more.

Times change, popular opinion and “what is in style” certainly changes, but I wear the watch and it doesn’t wear me. I think it is a beautiful watch, has sentimental value to me, and there is a modicum of stylistic freedom not caring about what others think. Sounds like you were of the same mindset. I guess I am out of touch if it is considered an “old man’s watch” to those in their 20’s now.

There are a few threads trying to relate TT to age or decade popularity and they refresh every now and then. I always enjoy reading the replies, but if you are still your own person then all that matters is whether or not you like something regardless of age. I bought a 1959 Corvette when I was under 40 when everyone else thought the C2 was cooler- I cared little for others opinion then as I do now. It, like the TT Sub, made me happy.

I'm 27. Don't wear a TT but I wouldn't hesitate to. Considering adding an LB before the end of the year.

Generally I prefer watches in one metal, I can appreciate the two tones. Although I feel the two-tone rose gold watches match better with steel than yellow gold and isn’t as harsh of a contrast between the metals.

TT screams 90's dentist or junior stockbroker to me. Sorry.

Too funny, your post on this past thread was actually what I was thinking about when I posted my reply, only because I have been spending WAY too much more time on TRF than I should to be able to dial in on a specific post:

Please don’t take it as a dig superpop- not the intent at all. It is just that opinions differ and I respect your perspective. I am the farthest thing from a 90’s dentist and stockbroker. I think it is great that we can all like what we like.

The simplest way to describe it is dressing for attention. Coming from male peacocks spreading their feathers for attention.

I’ve just turned 40 and TT still doesn’t float my boat.
However if you like it, rock it and don’t think too deeply about it

I think they look cool, but they don’t match my personal style. Also, I’m not in my 20’s so within the scope of this thread it doesn’t matter what I think.

I do love the fact that TT is making a comeback.

Bought my first TT when I was 19, revisited it again at 26. I think I’ll always have a TT. They’re definitely gaining popularity amongst our generation.
