Submariner 1975 (red) values

I have one of these but no paperwork. I understand the (red) ones are more valuable.
Would anybody like to hazard a guess as to its value ?
Thanks !

1975? could have been sitting in as AD's case for awhile before being purchased.

Most Red sub collectors would prefer time-frame in the 1967/73 range max, myself would not buy outside this range unless it had 100% Rolex provenience. But have seen a Rolex poster advert with a Red sub dated 1978.

There were many red subs in AD's cases in late '74-'75. I bought mine in late Dec. 74. ser. no. 355xxx

Well, a 3.55 million serial dates the production of the watch to early 1973...For me, I would not buy one past a production date of 1973, or 3.7 million serial.

Yes agree to be more or less safe but there has been a few later examples.

red sub value

condition is key £4,000-£6,000 as a rough guide dial and hands are very important most of the value for any old watch is in the dial.

regards sean

Yeah, the serial number is the critical issue rather than when it may have been sold.
