He does come around periodiccally. I e-mailed him to try to get together next weekend when I'm in Boca but I haven't heard from him.

JJ, it's a reference to the corny '60s TV show "Gilligan's Island". The theme song listed all the characters, but they changed the song after the first season of the show. In the first season, the song said, "and the rest" -- referring to the characters who weren't mentioned by name -- all TWO of them. In the second season they updated the song to say, "the professor and MaryAnn".

The professor was the guy (Russel Johnson) who could invent all kinds of gadgets to try to get them rescued from the island, but didn't have the brains to patch the hole in the hull of the boat.

MaryAnn (Dawn Wells) was the "regular girl" who didn't have any special characteristics, role, or kookiness. The unspoken secret about here though, was that she was really prettier than the "movie star" (Tina Louise). IMO.

Anyway, I now refer to our own "professor and MaryAnn". ;-)

Thanks, Peter. I'd heard a lot about "Gilligan's Island", but in the '60s I was in India at which time we didn't even have TV. India got TV for the first time only in Oct. '72.

Suhail's a great guy with a wonderful sense of humour. I wish somehow I could coax him to hop on to this forum. He's good fun and very nice person.

Are you trying to prime yourself so that when she finally gets here and starts kicking your butt around, it won't hurt as much?

I just chatted with Suhail recently. He's been working pretty hard of late to get a few things going, and hopefully he'll be able to join us soon!
