Why I hate AP

I know they are considered 'haut horologie' but any watch company that could produce this abomination should be struck from any WIS' list.

Get this.. it's also a tourbillon. YUCK!

OMG. That is absolutely fugly. That could be one of the worst looking pieces of garbage ever posted on this forum. And it probably runs into the 6 figures, being a tourbillon.

And it should have been buried with the Pharohs.

Please pass the sick bag, thats real vomit fodder, the tourbillon must be the most waste of time, over hyped, thing ever to be put into a wrist watch.Perhaps you could send it to JJ as a frightener to stop him posting
the dreaded orange pumpkin.

The thing i dont understand is why put a tourbillon in this watch when you wouldnt be able to look at the dial long enough to appreciate it! also does it come with an official sick bag as standard with the AP logo on it?

Now that's a watch that's just begging to be stolen by a hooker.

thanks for agreeing with me guys. It's my duty to act as TRF's watch fashion police... to suss out bad and ugly watches and expose them for the monstrosities they are.

Now really, can anyone justify wearing an AP RO after seeing that fugly watch?

I think the pumpkin is pretty close in ugliness to that horrible AP. What say you?

I think the off shore is a interesting watch, but they have never been for me. Different strokes for crazy people, or whatever that saying is.

For the RO, I think the look is "dated" rather than "classic."

AP does make some nicer looking watches that are not "sport" watches, but the whole RO thing is lost on me.

I agree, that pumpkin thing is certaibnly on the edge!

I know AP is a fine watch making house... and my dislike for the AP is more at the watch itself than someone who wears it. At the old place, I routinely made fun of a fellow member for his love of the AP.

No question AP makes beautiful movements but their style on most of their time pieces is lost on me.

Yeah, I agree with Al - the RO looks so 80's, and time's taken its toll on the design.

It's that I'm such a nice guy. Otherwise I would say: "I prefer that AP over the pumpkin anytime”. But of course, I don't.

Take care,

Frans.

I hate to say this, Johnny, (and I know I am going to catch it from both the left and the right, so to speak), but this AP POS almost makes the Pumpkin look good by comparison. I should bite my tounge off for saying that, I know.

Come on, fellas.....you can't even compare that ugly POS with the orange pumpkin. In all fairness to OMEGA, they've introduced the colour orange 'cause it's one of the easy to spot colours in deep waters (the other colour being yellow).

So please go easy on my Ommie....he does have a temper, you know!!

I don't like it neither but 1 watch is not representative for the whole brand.

I'm sure that every sigle brand once made watches that look stupid today.
JLC for example is a superb manufacturer but if you take a look at some pieces they made in the 70's or 80's ... they're butt-ugly.

Besides most gold watches with diamond and other precious stones are ugly pimp watches. Or do you like the Leopard Daytona ???

I can't imagine that you 'hate' this watch.

for me, the Royal Oak is the best looking chronograph available. Looks 10 times better than a Daytona. I like my daytona but an RO chronograph from AP just looks better.
