Regarding scratches on Everose Oyster bracelet

Originally, I was in the market for a blue 36mm DJ with jubilee and fluted bezel, but the AD had this beauty as a fresh new arrival.

I did have this exact Wimbledon DJ 41 in TT in mind as a purchase in the future. It just ended up being a great coincidence.

Now... I absolutely love the RG TT Oyster bracelet but now.... my concern is: scratches

Don't get me wrong, I'm not scared of scratches, I plan to wear the hell out of it and scratches on a watch are a fact of life. Now what I do care about, is if the TT oyster bracelet loses it's contrast due to the scratches. The reason why I love this watch is due to the contrast, and that exact color combination, which make it so beautiful in my mind.

Will the RG lose it's depth? or will it still retain a strong degree of shine after even 5 years and being full of scratches?

I'd like to picture myself the Oyster bracelet 5 years from now, and see how altered the colors are.

Any picture would be welcome, including how long it has been worn and frequency... SS, YG, all combinations would be interesting to see. Show the world your beaten up Oyster bracelets!

I have no experience with TT specifically, but I do have some with PCL’s. The center links will scratch pretty much if you breathe on them

They’ll develop sort of a patina over time making them less shiny. I’d say the same will hold true for yours

I think you're overthinking it. And, there is almost no better way to suck the fun out of little hobby than doing that.

Well, you could start asking questions about what it will be worth in the future. That's a pretty good way, too.

Well.. knowing what to expect is a good way to « not worry » about scratches, since you know what it’s « mature state » looks like.

I love the rose gold but it scares me on my CHNR too. I only got it as I loved the look so it just goes around and around on my winder

The clasp will be scratched up pretty quickly but for the links if you go for jubilee it scratches much less compared to oyster. Another option is to polish your bracelet (just the bracelet) after a few years when with plenty of scratches.

the two tone oyster bracelets will get scratches if you breathe on them. there's a thread here about well worn two tones and i think unless you completely beat it up the contrast and shine won't go away. i had swirls on every link within hours of wearing mine just from it rubbing against a long sleeve t shirt so you just gotta learn to live with it. if it bothers you there's no chance this is a watch for you and you'd need to go with a jubilee bracelet. i'm super careful when i wear watches and it was annoying at first but i just learned to ignore it

this was half a day after getting it brand new. swirls on every link and some fair scratches on most links as well

The RG bezel will not show scratches because of the cut outs. It sounds like you take good care, possibly baby watches. If this is the case, most of your scratches will end up at or near the clasp area. Nobody will notice them but you. I would just enjoy the watch and only have it polished at its service intervals.
