Leather strap for 21mm Submariner
I’ve searched a bit online and found some. Some cheap. Some very pricey. Most not available in 21mm width.
For those that have a leather strap for your 21mm Sub, where did you buy from and do you like it. I’d like to get a rubber strap. Rubber B and Everest are obvious choices but $200 plus. I have seen the Sub on a nato but for some reason something seems weird with some Natos like they are too thin or something. Brown leather with some tan contrast stitch at the lugs would be ok. Grey suede could be nice. Thanks for the help. |

No. Please. No.
No rubber, no leather, no nato unless you must to dive. Please no. I'm begging. |

I think I speak for many when I say that the newer subs look hideous on anything other than bracelets. I get it, we enjoy tinkering, but you’ll be disenchanted after 50 seconds

I have my DSSD on a one-piece 22mm orange Maratac Zulu w/titanium hardware (as a nod to the Ti caseback) and it looks fantastic! Much safer as well.

I completely disagree with previous posters. I put my 21mm Sub Date on a rubber strap for summer months and love it. I also get many compliments when on the rubber strap. I saw someone this past week with their Sub on a black alligator strap and it also looked great. Wear what you like, not what is popular.

Only previous series (4 and 5) could be good looking in NATO straps. But new models, not so much. Also, why would you want leather when you have 904L? Or rubber for the matter. If you want cheap feeling texture, go with Oysterflex or with an Apple Watch. |

This thread needs some pics!! As stated above, wear what you like. Watch collecting and wearing is an individual sport!

I've not been able to find any sort of strap I like for my Sub, which is an 11. I think with the 12, and its more streamlined lugs, it might look better on a strap.
Generally, I've had my straps 'custom made' (sometimes made based on my design specs and other times just custom lengths), and I really like shark as a material for both its aesthetics and its durability. I've seen some stingray, gator, and crocodile straps that look pretty good on the Subs. |

I love changing straps, but something isn't quite right about a diver on leather. Bit like an SUV on on slicks..
But, we're all different... I would go custom made. The cost isn't that much and you'll get exactly what you want.. Or, a leather Nato is aways an easy fit and often a cheaper option.

I have tied a few cheap leather straps on my 41mm sub, they are ok, but the ruff tool marks on the side of the case between the lugs always scratches up the leather in the middle, that scuff tends to bother me. I have not liked any leathers enough to keep them on.

While I prefer a bracelet, if we all saw the Submariner on the Rolex website on different types of straps the general consensus would be far more accepting.

I use two Everest straps ($235 EACH!, "OUCH!") on two Subs.
The reason is that my arm has gotten too small for the bracelet <I am not a well person.> If you want straps, go with what you like. There are a number of manufacturers from which to choose. It is YOUR watch, and not anyone else's, so do what YOU want to do. Although quite expensive, The Everest's were a good choice for me. And they don't smell of rubber !!!!! At first I was hesitant to spend $470 but now I feel it was a good, long-term, long-wear choice. The Everest is available in a shorter length, too, if you have a smaller arm.
