If you delete Rolex from the dial and forget about quality it can be good Invicta in my opinion.

I think it's misunderstood more than anything. Every Rolex in the Professional line is purpose-built (for diving; for flying; for racing), or at least that's the story. However, they all double as excellent daily timekeepers, with features we can all use, even if we don't need (300m water resistance) or choose to (timing on chrono vs phone).
The YMII, on the other hand, is purpose-specific. Its setup and feature set is really quite specific to yachting. I don't even know what the various indicators mean on it. Not only will the vast majority of owners not need its features, they'll likely never even be in a position to use them at all. |

Good call. It’s for counting down the start to a regatta. Since boats have significant momentum, it’s important to know exactly when the race begins so you can cross the starting line with as much speed as possible.

I’ve no doubt it is very useful for yachting. But it’s very purpose-specific. Not only won’t most people use it, most have no use for it. That’s what separates it in my mind from the other Pro line watches.

This thread is hilarious. If u like the watch buy it. If not, don't. It keeps great time like other models and has the bonus of a complicated movement. I recall its rolex's most complicated, which the skyd now utilizes. I'm sure most people don't race that have a daytona. I'm sure most sub/sd/dssd owners don't dive either. So who cares if a ymii owner doesn't yacht. My two cents on this thread. Btw, I love my blue hand ymii, especially in warm weather. Such a fun watch and collects alot of compliments by wis and non wis.

So all Sub owners must Scuba? All GMT owners must either be pilots or at least frequently travel between time zones?? All Daytona owners must be involved in motor sport??? No dude, likewise, owning a YM2 without a yacht is not pathetic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s large, asymmetric, aesthetically not pleasing. Oh, and expensive too!

I looked on Chrono24 a moment ago and there are only 37 Yacht Master II 116680 listed for sale, and some are pre-owned. They seem to be disappearing fast and becoming rarer.

Just wait when is discontinued- all the sudden is highly wanted- history repeats it self? 1970s Daytona ring a bell? Also this is a very complicated watch.

Yep
Yep! Text "yelling" out and saying "HEY Look at me". This design choice ruins it.
Same thing for the Deep Sea. I owned one for 13 years...Besides the too thin/out of proportion bracelet, which I could overlook, I loved everything about the watch except the "Original Gas...blah blah blah" around that beautiful ring of steel. It draw my attention and messed with my brain every time I looked at it. Like spray paint over a masterpiece. Garish... |

I kinda think it's beautiful. Perhaps though it's due for a slight design refresh.

As a sailboat racer I’d wear one, on the boat. The start function is actually really useful. Maybe to the after race party. It’s kind of loud for any other occasion.
