Not saying I don't believe it, but come on, the TRF I know and love would never let something fly from a source like that.
I walk the same street.

Was the OF daytone bigger than the PM daytona with symmetric case.

Agree. There is a reason why the 3 most sought-after sportswatches are the 5711, 15202, and 116500.

+1

To my eyes the releases of Rolex sports watches over the last few years have slab sided cases which is a move away from the traditional "oyster" rounder and more curvy cases. So in a sense, Rolex are following Tudor trends in introducing slab sides, titanium material etc.

No - Ive owned both and would say the cases are the same size for the WG/RG PM on oysterflex/bracelet (the only difference being the machined cut outs for the fixed end links and the bezels of course)

Agreed Larry. He also said the PM Daytona case had come down in size to be 40mm.

Which is flat out wrong.

On my callipers it came in at 39.8mm from 10 to 4 (or as close as the bottom pusher allows). Bracelet width at widest point of first link beside lugs was 19.8 mm

For reference my 39mm BB58 came in at 39.2 mm (3.30 to 9.30 - no crown guards) my 16600 at 39.5 mm (10 to 4) and my CHNR at 40.8! (10 to 4) but a measurement from 9 to 3 (crown unscrewed) from underneath came in at 40.2 mm.

Its fair to say that crown guards make accurate diameter measurements difficult because you're not measuring the true diameter of the watch were you to measure a circle excluding the crown guards.

My PM Daytona measurement came in as expected. As did the others.

My BB58 and 16600 "wear" the same size (thickness aside) the Daytona in the middle and the CHNR the largest. As the measurements suggest they would.

My readings should all be taken with an allowance of +/- 0.1 mm for reasons of not marking up my cases (pm specifically) being more important than absolute accuracy. But they will be close enough.

What I can confirm is that if the new Daytona is 40mm Rolex did NOT reduce the PM case size as stated by Adrian Barker on his you tube channel
Thank you for this.

This is good information.
