it's been done before around here. It looks fantastic. Only issues people have are typically just contextual. Purists don't like the mix and matching, but to me it's so easily reversible, I'd go for it if you want a black on black sub.

I've seen a few,I just figure it's been green for 15 years. Not to mention the green doesn't work with everything.

I did black to green for giggles. It’s not hard.

How do you remove the existing insert without damaging it?

2 options is better than 1!
Just be sure to buy the proper tool and then do it yourself. It will be great to have the ability to switch back and forth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do yourself a favor and either 1) don’t change it or 2) buy the entire bezel assembly, with the black aluminum insert and the stainless steel bezel (like changing between summer and winter tires with a second set of wheels).
You have either a Y or F serial 16610LV - one of the first with the very first green insert which is very valuable. |

It's a 2007 or 2008 m serial bought it in early 08. It's been regularly serviced and for an older watch keeps fairly good time -4seconds a day.
It has been my daily wearer pretty much since I bought it. I work in it,dive with it pretty much everything. I have just been thinking about changing it up a little. Last edited by Towboat43; 22 April 2023 at 09:47 AM.. Reason: More info |

There have been a few stories of people taking in their LVs for service and getting a flat 4 replacement insert. Maybe that’s what happened?

I did the green to black bezel insert switch, but then my OCD convinced me it was like a Franken-watch, so I switched it back after a couple of weeks. Still looks good though.

I like that, and as much as I am considering the swap I keep thinking there are already a lot of black on black subs out there.

Yep, I’ve done that in the past. Pretty common back in the day. Now that the LV is super hype it’s not as popular.
