This is where I am now strongly leaning … not a done deal that I’m offered the 11, but if so, I think I take it … and later, if I fall in love with the 12, and I have in fact been demoted to the back of the list for that one … then if I have to wait 3-5 years for the 12, then I have to wait 3-5 years for the 12 … all the while enjoying my 11.

The answer is to take whichever you are offered first period. Life is short and nothing is certain. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

I like both the 116500 and the 126500.

Some things better on the 11, some things better on the 12.

I see 6 differences …
1. Lug size
2. Crown Guard size
3. Metal “Bezel Guard”
4. More narrow / longer Hour Markers
5. Thinner Subdial Rings
6. Crown added at 6 o’clock

Size difference ???

I’ll be very curious to find out the size … once someone gets one in hand, with a caliper.

Question … if you are offered the 116500 (from your AD) in the next few months, do you take it ?

Or do you hold out for the 126500, noting it may be another 3 years before you are offered that watch ???
New one for me. Although I'm not a fan of the bezel ring, I really dislike the asymmetric case of the old SS one.

I think as time goes on the ceramic insert with metal ring will not be looked upon as favorably as the full ceramic bezel.

I prefer the new over the previous, mostly due to the fact of the dial.

It's so hard to take which one is better the 4130 vs 4131. But if the bezel is thicker, I think I'll get the 4130. I think the older ones have that "meaner look" and fhe new one has a nicer font (clearer?) It's hard to tell. I don't care about movement a Rolex is a rolex. But I also like the older metal bezel. I wish I could get my top two but I can only afford one.

I agree wholeheartedly on the 116518 I want … I don’t like the 126518 iteration of that watch … to the point I don’t even want one.

Hard to tell until I can see new version in the flesh. I’m guessing it will be beautiful.

Why take it if no intention of wearing it, lol...

I would buy the 116500 as it has a vintage feel. Maybe it’s just the fact that I am a big fan of this reference.

Something to spice it up a bit … from a reliable source, with a video on YouTube, measuring both watches …

116500 = 38.88 mm

126500 = 39.88 mm

Does that sway anyone’s choice one way or another ???

Yes, if someone offers me a Daytona, I'm taking it.

No, I could care less about any of the microscopic changes on the new model that no human, who is not a watch enthusiast, would notice.

By the way, if my AD is reading this, feel free to do just that.
