Sure, be nice and honest. But also be realistic, as I am with my clients. Don't be a know it all.
It's like the barberhshop scene from Grand Tourino. Don't just walk into a mans shop and ask for a Daytona... or GMT

My point is if a guy comes in and says thats, and they do, then why don't they buy something for their wife or girlfriend. Or do some other service with us?

Because they choose not to play the game.

I understand the bublic is full of A-holes whether you work at Walmart or Saks. But again, Rolex created this hostile environment. There's no excuse for rude behavior but what an absolute cluster Rolex has cultivated for themselves!

Any guy who walks into a diamond dealer wanting a Rolex clearly doesn’t know how to play the game.

I think you’ll find no one really knows how the game is played. Unless you mean the art of the trade or how the sausage gets made. We just assume that it happens, but no one else is in the room where it happens.

Life is too short … maybe consider another line of work, for your own well being.

I’m not sure getting mad at someone, because they are asking you for something that they want, is healthy.

What would be expected from your AD to obtain a GMT or Daytona?

There have been many times I’ve been treated like garbage at the ADs even before I opened my mouth and asked any question, attitude changes when I take my jacket off and they can spot whatever I’m wearing but still, I would say the douchery goes both ways, actually in my case I’m never a douche, I’m always smiley, polite and excited to nerd out about watches, yet I’ve had 10 different Rolex and still didn’t manage to get a single one from an AD…I guess I don’t know how to play the game after all :(

So tell me… how much do you pimp out (not pump out) a client for them to be even considered for a Daytona?

I’ll tell you one thing. Wouldn’t be me. Have more self respect than to play games and beg for stuff

What's wrong with that? So you are admitting to playing a game yourself and lying to your customers about what you have in the safe?

I'll acknowledge that Rolex caused some of the game, but the AD themselves acting as a gate keeper is the worst. Do you want to sell product and make money? It's fairly simple I suppose.

I agree you should look for another line of work. This difficult watch market has taken its toll on you. Understandable of course, but regularly feeling ill of people makes no sense. Life is too short.

Can you not tone it down a bit?

You can’t possibly speak to your clients the way you post so why vent like that here?

I was on holiday and went by an AD to look at a non Rolex brand. The sales associate treated me like I could not afford the watch I was looking at. He mentioned selling me some women's gold watches or even writing an SA on why I wanted to buy the watch. I'm glad that the AD that I purchased all my Rolex's from doesn't play silly games like that. The sad thing is, I probably make more money in a week than this sales guy makes a year. When you're looking to spend 6 figures on a watch, that should be enough for them.
